What was the new quest they released 2 years ago and was it in the form of a patch ?
Here you go.:salute:
The "new quest" added to The Witcher 3 in recent updates is called "In the Eternal Fire's Shadow," which is a horror-themed quest where Geralt investigates a cave used by a church to lock up plague victims, featuring a possessed former Witcher and a storyline that draws inspiration from the Netflix series and is considered a way for CD Projekt Red to transition back into the Witcher universe while developing "The Witcher 4."

A simple statement by Daniel Vavra (Warhorse) potentially taken out of proportions:

Yet, there's probably some truth to it. Perhaps the game will be delayed and restricted due to the engine, even though the point of shifting to external engine was to save time!

Just another reason to hate shareholders and to keep your business private.

Shareholders bring them money. I guess the relevant news for us was that the game won't be released before 2027 at the earliest.

Sure but when you go public you also give up control of your company.

My experience proves it's better to remain private but that also has negatives.

Hm, seems the shift to UE5 is problematic/technically challenging? Weird given that Unreal make game engines - I mean surely they should have an ultra-flexible and powerful platform if that is their core business? That said, CDPR should have done due diligence before making that swap (assuming that change is the cause for delay....)

Check out this Unreal Engine 5.6 tech demo for The Witcher 4, running on PlayStation 5 with raytracing. This Witcher 4 tech demo shows off the new Fast Geometry Streaming Plugin to load open-worlds faster, and we see how UE 5.6 handles busy scenes full for high-fidelity character models and visual effects like ML Deformer. Additionally, we see Nanite Foliage in action, which provides a memory-efficient way to achieve high density (and fidelity) foliage, slated for release on UE 5.7.

I watched the demo, very impressive...but I also remain somewhat skeptical until I see what is actually released :) I recall original W3 visuals and later complaints about gfx downgrades etc. The voxel-based LOD is cool as are the streaming optimizations - I'd love to know more details about former

They're not pretending that this represents what the final game will be like. It's a tech demo and their target.

I'm pretty sure there'll be another uproar when it's released calming CDPR down graded the game once again. It happened with every game from them at some point.

Modern gamers are so damn amusing along with YouTube snake oil creator's.

It did not happen with every game from them. It happened with TW3 and maybe Cyberpunk to a lesser degree.

They have to compromise between visuals and performance or else everyone would be bitching about the framerates instead.

Thank you again you seem to have a need to correct me today. :rotfl:

Anyway my god-damned point above is still correct.

Talk to my hand bro dont care. I have more interesting things to do.

Anyway wonder if they have a target release date yet, it's probably 2028 as the last report said Cyberpunk 2 is targeting a 2030 release. Man the wait is long.

I don't know why you're rolling your eyes.

Epic’s State of Unreal 2025 event revealed a technical demo showing off "some of the cutting-edge tech powering the new Witcher saga." Epic stressed this was not The Witcher 4 itself, rather a tech demo only, but it does give us a good idea of what to expect from the game
