Titan Quest II - Early Impressions @ C4G

had great expectations being a huge tq1 fan. Tried the demo and i was disappointed, looks like something made with console in mind, extremely simplicistic.
Hope the actual game will offer more than that in the field of skill customization/itemization or it will be a letdown.

Where is this demo people keep talking about? Or was it something you had to sign up for?

*Edit* Ah ok. For anyone else who was curious, it was apparently on Epic for a limited time.

The first game was rather simplistic as well, there was nothing elaborate or groundbreaking about it - but it filled a nice niche back in the day, and the Greek mythology aspect of it, fighting fantastic creatures you'd only heard of in fables and were rarely seen in action combat in a videogame was very enticing.

I doubt there's demand for that in this day, the genre is rich and deep with very well done ARPGs and everyone has grown a bit numb to the awe of fighting these creatures. That said, I still have good nostalgic feelings about it and I want to give it a shot.

We'll see how it turns out.

I'm ok with this one still being simplistic, if that turns out to be the case. I'm hoping for deeper mythology expansion and details with decent quests and a good story, those will nail it all for me.

except it wasn't i just had an elegant design but there were so many character building options, average tq1 player has 15 alts. From what i could see on this new one there are skill mods similar to diablo 3 but i fail to see actual synergies when matching masteries.
