Wartales - Player Satisfaction Survey

I did the survey and hope they take some of the feedback in consideration.

Something about this game didn't 'grab' me. Theoretically, I should love it, it's got fun TB combat, character progression, a little gameworld like Battle Brothers. It just felt flat to me. Very odd. I may need to give it another go.

Any hints/tips @Couchpotato

what this game should do is take the combat maps and expand them so you can explore around... but i guess that's not in the budget heh

I did the survey and filled out the suggestions section. They raised the max level to 15, but the armor and weapon recipes are maxed out at level 12. This is one of the few games that I enjoyed crafting, and they need to add high-level recipes. The same goes for camp items like your cooking pot and tent.

It would also be nice if they added a new level to your crafting profession after master. Your mercenary can max their profession out around level 10 but now the game goes to 15. There is so much to do in the early levels of the game but later on it's mostly just fighting for exp.

The final suggestion was to add a new kind of humanoid to battle. It's a long game, and 15 levels of battling humans and animals can get a tad boring. It could be some type of goblinoid, intelligent undead, or anything. Just something with new tactics, weapons, and armor.

Wartales is a great game and I would love to see a sequel.

For me it was the battle field which did not allow enough variation. Most battles seemed to follow the same pattern and I got bored as battle is the main element in the game. Perhaps the DLCs bring more variation?

I agree with most. It's a good game that gets boring a bit too quickly. The TB battles feel good at first but become a repeatable stale setting sooner than later. By the time you've completed the 2nd out of 5-6 areas you're pretty much done with the whole thing and the only incentive I found was fighting battles way above my level to keep it interesting. That's so even in extreme difficulty.

I don't necessarily agree with adding monster races, the game presents a realistic setting with some the usual "medieval plague" shenanigans and fables (rat infestations, plagued victims, creepy beast packs), but still within a realm of a wicked and twisted reality. As far as I can tell it's not a fantasy setting, and adding monster races wouldn't be consistent to the setting's lore and background.

All in all, I thought it's a good concept, in truth good game that is just too grindy and redundant for its own good.
