Witcher 3 - 10th Anniversary

Sad, but also impressive, that no other game has managed to top this one yet.

Its pity that character development and related RPG mechanics were not as great as production values and storytelling.
But you just cant have it all at once I suppose. Nontheless, great game and so far stood the test of time rather well.
I have to try to actually finish it ...

Replayed the game four times with every DLC.

The next game better be 10x times more enjoyable.

I never enjoyed the simplified action combat and Geralt wasn't a likeable/relatable character to me, which muddled my feelings about the game quite a bit, but it's still a fantastic game for sure. Looking forward to the Witcher 4, hoping that it fixes these issues for me and I can fully enjoy it.

Good game. I found it best to follow where the story took me as the Freeform exploration wasn’t Great with the repeated POI’s. Combat and character progression were middling but the story telling and side quest were second to none. Even though I’m very much a combat over story person this was one of the few games that kept me hooked because of the story and side quests.

Agreed, the story telling in The Witcher 3 was superb, even if many other things weren't my preference. Only when playing Clair Obscur Expedition 33 recently I've been reminded of how much I miss games that put the narrative first and foremost, and the Witcher 3 was one of those games that managed that rare level of immersion.

Well I'm a story/narrative player over combat and I agree. :rotfl:

Both Witcher 3 and Clair Obscur Expedition 33 are good examples.

Not to forget the books which, I think, are an integral part in understanding all the political schemes that are happening in the games.

Books are excelent. And with audiobooks I really see zero room for excuses, even if you suffer from dyslexia or just REALLY dont like to read.

That's definitely the way to play it imo. When people tell me they didn't finish it because they got burned out, it's usually because they tried to lawnmower the game world completionist style which is a bad idea here.

I hate reading and only do it for learning purposes or when absolutely required for entertainment. I never thought about audio books though. Thanks for the suggestion.
