Here is the second and last round of reviews I will post for Deus Ex: The Fall. As usual the reviews are a mixed bag, and it's not a surprise if you read the other roundup.

Softpedia -  6/10

Deus Ex: The Fall is a mixed experience. On the one hand, its story is pretty good and its design certainly harks back to Human Revolution. On the other hand, in terms of an actual game, it disappoints with wonky gun mechanics, limited AI, quite a few glitches, and really bad visuals.

GamingBolt - 4/10

While it's easy to understand the enjoyability on a mobile platform due to its touchscreen control mechanics, Deus Ex: The Fall contributes a great deal to the non-official category of bad ports.

Metal Arcade - 6.5/10

Regardless of all the negativity though, I still found myself enjoying my time with Deus Ex: The Fall. Perhaps I’m too easy to please, or maybe I let my feelings towards the franchise overwhelm the reality of the game’s shortcomings, but either way, I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t fun to return to the futuristic, Matrix-esque world of Deus Ex. Sneaking around like Sam Fisher’s cyborg counterpart and busting up cholos in the grimy streets of Panama gets me every time!

The Refined Geek - 4/10

Deus Ex: The Fall is yet another unfortunate example of how mobile-first games simply don’t translate well into the PC world. It feels like the same amount of time and effort could have been dedicated to implement this as a DLC for Human Revolution, something which I think would’ve seen this story done a lot more justice than what it was on the mobile platform. I may be singing a different tune if I had played this through on my phone but the fact is this was made available through Steam as a game for the PC. In that regard it’s hard to not call it as it is, a bad port that needed a lot more work to even be mediocre.

Deus Ex: The Fall is a great mobile game. What it is not is a good PC game. Mediocre would be a more accurate description, with it being aimed at the die-hard Deus Ex fans more than the casual FPS gamer. I would say give it a try for the price point, but leave high expectations aside.

I managed to roundup up five reviews for Deus Ex: The Fall. Most of them are negative due to the game being a phone port. We do have one positive one though.

Strategy Informer - 7/10

Once you get through a lot of the shock that comes with The Fall being a tablet conversion and all the little problems it has, fortunately you'll find that it's still a fun new slice of Human Revolution. Get used to the slightly odd un-redefinable controls, the cramped level design, and the silly shop-inventory (where you can only buy, not sell) and you'll find the special Deus Ex gameplay itself is intact.

IncGamers - 2/10

Deus Ex: The Fall is pretty much a catastrophe in every way possible. It’s a pale imitation of Deus Ex: Human Revolution that was seemingly made by following a checklist of everything a Deus Ex game needs to have, but not managing to tie it together with any skill, verve, or spark.

PCG Media - 10/100

The Fall has all the components of a Deus Ex game, with the stealth, the hacking, the RPG progression, and the cyberpunk setting. Unfortunately, It’s like someone took all the elements of a Deus Ex game, sucked out the fun, then clumsily stitched it back together. If you really want some more Deus Ex action after playing Human Revolution, then check out the Director’s Cut, or even try the earlier entries in the series. Either way, avoid The Fall at all costs.

Like a drug addict staring down their mom's television, what this really all comes down to is what you're willing to do for another hit of Deus Ex. Are you willing to sacrifice graphical fidelity? How about jumping and thinking in general? Do you need it to be challenging? Does it have to play like a PC game? Like a well-ported game? Does your love for Deus Ex reach the depths of becoming unconditional, or do you require your cyberpunk fantasy to respect you as much as you respect it?

PCGamesN has the first review for the PC version of Deus Ex: The Fall that I could find. The site gave the game a score of 6/10 which basically means it's an average game.

In The Fall, NFusion have taken a scalpel to to Human Revolution’s template, collected together a pile of game meat - the essential giblets of a Deus Ex game - stitched it together and presented you with a serving. It’s recognisably Deus Ex but it’s not very appetising. NFusion get an extra point for not including a single boss fight.

Square Enix announces in a new blog post that Deus Ex: The Fall will be releasing a week earlier on March 18th instead of the 25th. Here are the details.

Deus Ex: The Fall releasing early!

So you know how we said that we were going to release Deus Ex: The Fall on Steam later this month? We said March 25 was the day we’d be releasing the game.

Sorry. We lied.

We’re actually ready to go early, so rather than wait for the ‘official’ release date, we thought we’d just release it earlier instead. So the game will now be available on March 18 – woo!

Also, something definitely worth pointing out is for those of you pre-ordering, you can download and play the original Deus Ex game (which is bundled with Deus Ex: The Fall in a special deal) right away – no need to wait for March 18 to play that one!

After the announcement two days ago you can now pre-purchase Deus Ex: The Fall on Steam, and get the original Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition for free.

Deus Ex: The Fall PC edition heads to Steam

Following last year’s release on mobile devices, we’re really happy to now announce that Deus Ex: The Fall is coming to Steam on March 25.

The game’s been adapted for the PC, meaning (of course) full keyboard/mouse controls, but also a whole bunch of other little bits too - so if you didn’t fancy dipping into Ben Saxon’s story previously, now would be an eminently sensible time to reconsider. After all, the game was produced with the original creative team from the superb Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and there's the small matter of new tracks penned by none other than Michael McCann...

The Steam version will sell for £7.99/€9.99/$9.99, but if you pre-order the game now (or grab it for a limited time after launch) you’ll also get the original Deus Ex – Game of the Year Edition as well, for free... and if you’ve already have DE:GOTY, you’ll be able to gift it to somebody else instead!
