King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Review by Kordanor
Kordanor played King Arthur: Knight's Tale a lot - here's his review:
King Arthur: Knights Tale - Review after 300h, including all* Expansions [EN] by Kordanor
Here is a shorened transcript of the conclusion for the news:
[...]
Neocore Games created a great Tactics-RPG, which can convince through this whole main campaign with its deep, tactical battles, which are well balanced , a joy to play and free of frustration also thanks to the great interface and lacking relevance of luck for the most part.
The enemies are well designed and quite varied, with lots of different models and skillsets, and even the choices of your characters new abilities stay interesting for the longest time.[...]
The Alignment system offers some nice rewards and it's also cool that you can even unlock missions for additional characters, but a system like that always comes with the problem that you basically chose one alignment at the very start and then just limit yourself in your decisions for the rest of the game, to actually get all these rewards.
The one thing which bothered me more is the lack of plannability regarding the characters. While this isn't a disaster, it's the main reason why the game, which can completely convince with its main campaign, "only" gets a solid thumbs up from me, but no t a golden and sparkling thumbs up. But even "just" a full thumbs up means that I would recommend the game to everyone who is interested in tactical RPGs and can afford the quite substantial price of 45 Euros or 45 US Dollars. It's definitely worth it. King Arthur: Knights Tale offers more than a hundred hours of fun and it's an astonishingly rounded and well-polished game that has actually exceeded my own expectations.
In regards of the additional content thats quite a bit different.[...]

RPG Codex Review: King Arthur: Knight's Tale
Back to the Once and Future
The year 2020 saw the success of yet another Kickstarter campaign. This time the people out for free money were the Hungarians of NeocoreGames, known for their cool King Arthur strategy games and a bunch of Diablo clones no one cares about, such as the Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing. The Kickstarter was launched to fund the development of a tactical turn-based RPG in the King Arthur series, titled Knight’s Tale.
As you may have inferred from the previous paragraph, Knight’s Tale immediately drew my attention. King Arthur: The Roleplaying Wargame might be one of my favourite strategy games of all time, and I never quite understood why they dropped the series to develop action RPGs, so merely looking at the various screenshots immediately made me feel at home.
Yet the developers never produced a game of turn-based tactics before, so naturally many people may be wondering whether Knight’s Tale is any good, especially given how easy this is to screw up. Now, two years after release and with a number of major patches applied, it is time to settle these doubts.
[...]
Kneel Before your King
In the end, Knight’s Tale gives us a game that is first and foremost about combat. It’s obvious to me that the primary objective behind its development was to make sure that everything about the combat worked right, with no exceptions or handwaves, and that everything else was ten priority levels under that. Neocore knew precisely what they set out to accomplish and they did it with great success. This game simply knows what it’s about and it sticks to its guns exactly where it matters. Playing something with a focus and vision this clear and well-realised is always a true joy. As far as the genre of ‘Turn-Based RPG Encounters: The Game’ is concerned, Knight’s Tale is definitely one of its highlights. Its secondary or tertiary features may be lacking in some aspects, but that really doesn’t matter when the core gameplay is so well done. The atmosphere and style are also the icing on top that elevate it above many other entries in this genre, which tend to offer just the combat and nothing else really worth noting.
It took me a whopping 100 hours to finish, and frankly speaking, I was somewhat happy when it was over. Primarily because at some point I realised it was taking way too much of my free time, but also because by the end you’re mostly progressing on autopilot with your overpowered heroes, and the fatigue that eventually settles in just makes you look forward to the finish line. That’s why I strongly recommend playing on the hardest difficulty, and maybe even trying the roguelite mode if you’re feeling adventurous. But make no mistake – this is not a game that is best ‘dropped midway’. By quitting early, you’ll be depriving yourself of a significant part of the experience. Technically, there’s also post-endgame content that I think is supposed to be super-challenging, but I never even tried it. I couldn’t really be bothered.
Still, I had a great time with Knight’s Tale. Neocore has already announced a new standalone campaign for it too, which is Roman-themed and about the ‘lost’ IX Legion crawling out of Tartarus to end up in Avalon. It’s unbelievable, but for once I actually have something to look forward to among upcoming RPGs.
Thanks Couchpotato!

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Rebalancing of Classes
The upcoming patch 2.0 for King Arthur: Knight's Tale rebalances the game:
Classes Rebalanced
Detailing the new balance features of Patch 2.0
Knights of Avalon!
One of the most important features of the upcoming Patch 2.0 for King Arthur: Knight's Tale is a careful rebalancing of all classes. We listened to all player feedback and we replayed the game over and over to see where certain classes needed some extra tweaking. Thus, we came up with a comprehensive list of changes.
Just to get a taste, here are some examples of how these will affect certain classes.
- So. Marksmen. Some of you might have noticed how this excellent ranged class became less than optimal as the game progressed to later Acts. In this new patch, we made some drastic changes to help them stay competent in mid- and late-game, without throwing off early game balance. They also received various tools that reward tactical gameplay and help positioning. Some examples of the changes include bigger damage for Aimed Shot, First Shot and Poison Bomb.
- We were pretty happy with Sages... however, players seemed to become a little bit too fond of inspiring other units. Because of this, the AP cost of Inspire will be increased, so players might experiment with other skills as well. Some masteries and abilities have been enhanced and moved around as you will find out.
The same is true for Champions, they only needed some minor adjustments. Whirlwind rarely saw any use, so we reduced its AP cost to make it more viable as an alternative to Cleave. However, we decided to restrict Killing Spree, the free Strike will now only occur once per turn.- Arcanists needed less attention, but a few skills and abilities will receive changes, such as Force Bolt, Fire Blast, Terror Wings and Wall of Flame. Fire spells will cause burning by default, so make sure to get friendly with the elements!
- What about Vanguards? Their traps now ignore all Armour, this change also affects Traps placed by Heroes of other classes, like Sir Damas. Traps were far inferior in their damage potential compared to regular attacks, even though their use requires much more forethought and careful planning. This change helps make up for that gap, while it also helps differentiate traps from other skills, giving them a unique advantage. Other changes will affect Assassination, and Vanguards will no longer jump back to their original position when performing a Jumping Attack.
- Lastly, Defenders will see some increased damage from Bonebreaker, Flaming Strike (Searing Blaze), and they will receive less damage from Overwatch and Opportunity Attacks. You will see other changes as well, but some will not apply to all heroes!
For a more detailed changelog, you will have to wait until Patch 2.0 drops on December 2, 2023. There's plenty of time to get the most out of your current strategies as they might not work anymore... but we hope by learning about these changes now you will be ready for anything!
Thanks Henriquejr!

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - The Sidhe
Henriquejr spotted some lore of King Arthur: Knight's Tale:
The Sidhe
King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Lore
In King Arthur: Knight’s Tale, one of the enemy factions are the Sidhe. Technically, two factions, as there are two warring courts. The newest seasonal update titled Rising Eclipse will focus on them, so let’s refresh what we know about these magical folk.
- The Sidhe (also known as the Fairy People or the Fair Folk) were once revered as Gods by the mortals. They have retreated to the Land of the Young, Tír na nÓg, a place between Britannia and the otherworld. As Arthur makes an appearance, they return to their sacred woods in Avalon, and settle in the eternal twilight of the magical wilderness of Deepwood, that acts as a gateway to other realms of existence.
- They are unpredictable, alien forces, even the most reasonable individuals of their kind will make deadly deals with unassuming wanderers. They wield powerful magic and they use it for negotiations and destruction.
- They have two different courts, the Seelie and the Unseelie. The Seelie Court represents spring and summer, daytime and brightness, their crystal towers reflect and magnify the sunlight. Don’t mistake this for benevolence – they gather power from heat and fire. This court is home to the Springborn and Summerborn who were once mortals. The Unseelie Court, however, is a sad, melancholic bunch, they weave their somber castles from mists and spiderweb, and they raise Autumnbreed and Winderbreed fighters.
- Yes, both Sidhe Courts have a long-standing tradition to raise disposable warbands using human children who were stolen from their cribs as infants. The Seelie Court takes these changelings into their forts of amber and thorns: time crawls sluggishly there, which grants the Sidhe years and years to shape these children both physically and mentally, until they become vicious creatures that will fight against their own kind blindly.
- The Sidhe are cunning and powerful enemies in Avalon, so always watch your step and words when encountering them. You will recognize their territories from the unique architecture and ornaments.
Of course, King Arthur: Knight’s Tale takes some artistic liberties and has a unique take on these Fairy People.
- The word ‘Sídhe’ originally meant fairy mounds, and ‘Aos Sí’ was the name of the people of these tumuli. ‘Sídhe’ as a loanword took on more meanings, for example, the legendary poet W. B. Yeats was among those who referred to the fairies as ‘Sídhe’, but it has been conjectured that 'sídh' is also synonymous with ‘immortal’.
- This is a whole rabbit hole of linguistics and folklore, so if you want to learn more about them, make sure to pick up some handbooks of Celtic myths and legends, or any collections of various Irish and Scottish fairy tales. Because of the nature of these stories you will find many variations and mutations on the same themes and names, which is also the case with the core Arthurian legend.
If you want to see more concept art for the Seelie, Unseelie and others, consider the Supporter Pack DLC which includes a 200+ page Art Book for the game.
Be prepared for Rising Eclipse which will come as
a free update on December 2, 2023!

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - New Feature: Rifts
On December 2 King Arthur: Knight's Tale will get a new feature:
Rising Eclipse
New Feature: Rifts
Deep within Avalon
reside two factions of the Sídhe, the Seelie and Unseelie. Their courts walk very different pathways in the twilight realms, but they are all drawn to these strange new occurrences throughout Avalon - the rifts, introduced in King Arthur: Knight's Tale's upcoming season, Rising Eclipse. So, what are they exactly?
Arcane researchers are puzzled by these curious tears in the fabric of reality. Otherwordly earthquakes signal the opening of rifts, and they are oozing dangerous, seemingly uncontrollable energies. However, it seems that the Sídhe know a bit more about them, a knowledge yet hidden from Camelot. They want to claim these fissures to themselves - it seems that whatever ancient energy leaks from the rifts, it can make the Sídhe even more powerful.
In the new season of King Arthur: Knight's Tale this feature serves as a new challenge for Camelot's knights to overcome.
Glowing magical rifts appear randomly on battlefields and grant huge boosts to all Sidhe units. These rifts function as barriers to the knights, they cannot step on the tiles where these magical fissures appear. However, Sídhe units are able to step inside the rifts, draining their energies and gaining buffs for themselves and allies within the mission. They can even chain together multiple enhancements by absorbing these powers.
This has grave consequences for battlefield tactics: now the player needs to take rifts into account when moving around. Are the rifts blocking your optimal path to the enemy? Is there a Sídhe unit close to one of these energy sources? Do you block their path or do you prepare for their increased HP and damage?
All Sídhe units will retain the acquired buffs until the end of the mission. But, if the enemy is defeated, all remaining rift energy can be interacted with and converted into a special resource that could empower player units in Camelot.
Rifts might occur outside of battles as well, but according to Camelot's wise arcanists, these are rare occurrences. However, they might provide interesting benefits. The new season titled Rising Eclipse (together with Patch 2.0) will arrive on December 2, 2023 to the PC version of King Arthur: Knight's Tale. Previous season will be accessible from a menu. Also look forward to our announcements of the console versions and the next expansion.
See you soon!

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Patch 2.0 announced
Patch and season 2 for King Arthur: Knight's Tale will be launched on December 2:
Patch & Season announcement | December 2
announcing the all new Patch 2.0 and Season 2 - Rising Eclipse
Knights of Avalon,
we are beyond thrilled to announce that
Patch 2.0 & Season 2 are coming!
- The island of Avalon, the last bastion of both the Knights of the Round Table and the creatures of the ancient legends, is saturated by magic at its core. The massive gameplay and quality-of-life overhaul will but further enhance this, adding class balance changes (Marksman enthusiasts rejoice!), brand new skills, item updates, and more.
- Season 2 - Rising Eclipse will bring a brand new seasonal mission chain. Otherworldly earthquakes are threatening to tear apart the Island of Avalon at its foundations, and strange rifts are opening up in the kingdom, oozing energies that are dangerous and uncontrollable. It will be up to you to stop the Sídhe before they gather the energy leaking from these rifts! Doing so will prevent them from gaining unimaginable power, and reward you with precious seasonal goods in return.
- The update, just like the previous Season, will be free for all owners of the base game, and will be available December 2nd.
That is not all, however.
- Later on You will get to explore the fate of the (in)famous Ninth Legion of Rome and their ventures across the mystical island
- As for the console version of Knight's Tale, we will share more news separately in the coming weeks, but you'll be able to start journeying on PS5 and XSX|S as well very soon!
Until so, may the (old) Gods guide your blades!
Thanks Henriquejr!

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Update Plans for 2022
Henriquejr spotted the update plans for King Arthur: Knight's Tale:
Update plans for 2022 - New DLC Challenges coming soon
Knights!
We have exciting news about some of the things we have been working on lately!
The game's first DLCs are on the way, and it's a treat for those who like strategic challenges and prefer pure combat. In the completely separate and brand new game mode - with multiple difficulty settings - players will be able to face unique enemy encounters in arena / skirmish scenarios. Certain NPCs from the campaign will make a return and new achievements will be added for completionists.
Just to tease things a bit, in one of these set of maps for instance you'll be in control of Sir Tewelyn and his Lost army with their well-known unique abilities. The first set of this skirmish setting will be available for everyone for free (as part of a game update), while the second and the third parts will be added as two separate DLCs. All three (including 10 pretty challenging encounters each) will be out really soon.
Additionally, the second season of Knight's Tale is in the works! This will be a free content patch for everyone, just like the current seasonal update, with a short story campaign, new mechanics and more. This time around, we'll be taking up the mantle of the Seelie Courts, so powerful magic and agile melee combat are both guaranteed. The second season is set to be released at a later date - stay tuned for more details!

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Update on June 23
King Arthur: Knight's Tale will get a major update on June 23 (with reduced install size):
The Chained God - Out June 23
Knights,
these past few weeks were spent busy around the studio, and we're super excited to announce that Knight's Tale's first major update will hit Steam in just 3 days!
This means that come June 23, you will be able to embark on a mini-adventure to find out how Balor, the monstrous God-King of the Fomorians managed to free himself from the chains binding him. And we've got a couple more things in store too!
Revamped EndgameFirst off all, with the new patch, we're reworking the structure of the Endgame in manner similar to Seasons in other titles. This means that each seasonal content update will focus on a new enemy faction, this time around the Fomorians. The Endgame will consist dozens of maps
(just like in the current iteration), 12 of which are against the season's main antagonist faction. Besides this, you will be able to earn seasonal currency that you can exchange for unique rewards and enchants, as well as power-ups for these items.
Fixes & balance changesWe're also addressing various balance issues and several bugs reported by the amazing people in the community - our gratitude goes out to everyone who reported these to us on the forums and through Discord. With these, you can expect a more balanced experience and fewer difficulty spikes during the campaign, no matter which difficulty level you're playing on.
Guess the guest!Last but not least, we have a surprise guest appearance in this update, someone who many of you are familiar with. Let's keep their identity a secret for now, but make sure to check back later this week to find out. Until then, get those cogs turning and leave your guesses in the comments!
Avalon awaits!

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Review @ RPGamer
RPGamer reviewed King Arthur: Knight's Tale:
King Arthur: Knight's Tale Deep Look
If the party fails a fight, often replaying that battle with a different approach will yield a new result. This really makes every win feel quite satisfying.
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is a tactical turn-based tactical RPG set in a darker version of King Arthur’s legendary story. In this version, the king and his nemesis, Mordred, fought to the death in a cataclysmic battle that decimated both armies. Years later, a plague covers the land
and the undead rise up, led by none other than King Arthur himself. The Lady of the Lake resurrects Mordred to fight off the hordes and finish what he started by slaying King Arthur once and for all. This is where the player enters, controlling Mordred as well as the various knights who join his new round table on the way.Gameplay is broken up into various sections. The bulk of the time is taken up by missions, each of which takes place on a dedicated map. Each one has a handful of tactical battles, triggered at certain points on the map, and their completion is required in order to finish the mission. A limited number of campfires can also be found, used to restore some armor or health to the team between fights, while careful exploration will turn up small caches of items or money littered around the map. Furthermore, optional battles or events may also be discovered.
[...]
Overall, King Arthur: Knight’s Tale has quite a few things working in its favor for fans of tactical turn-based combat. This emphasis on mathematical outcomes during combat rewards players that think strategically. The story, while hardly unique, explores an interesting perspective as the antagonist is forced to defend the people he once attacked in order to fulfill his true purpose in life. However, RPGamers wishing to fully explore the tale will need to invest quite a bit of time and have patience with the repeated, bland backdrops. Those with the patience to do so may find Mordred’s journey to be a fulfilling one.

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Review @ IGN
IGN reviewed King Arthur: Knight's Tale:
King Arthur: Knight's Tale Review
A whole lot of Camelot.
King Arthur is dead and you, Mordred, died killing him. Now Arthur has cursed the afterlife. In order to bring peace to the island of Avalon, you must do what you do best: Kill Arthur – or rather, the variety of vile villains his soul has been twisted into. For those who were fans of Neocore Games' previous turn-based dark fantasy, King Arthur: A Role-Playing Wargame, the idea behind King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is very welcome indeed. Don't expect a retelling of the classical romances like Malory or cinematic depictions, but do expect your favorite Arthurian characters to appear in some twisted afterlife form, and for them to take part in battles between a handful of powerful knights and hordes of enemies using a rich combat system. It's a heck of a lot of game for what it is – a sprawling adventure that's perhaps too repetitive for its own good.
[...]
Verdict
King Arthur: Knight's Tale takes the classic ideas of the legend and remixes them into a familiar form. It's ambitious and lengthy with detailed tactical mechanics that emphasize smart positioning and facing in order for your small squad of heavily armored knights to overcome many times their number, but is undermined by a shallow story and repetitive mission design. There's fun to be found in its grim, scowling characters and knightly fantasy milieu, but if you're like me you'll get bored long before you see the ending of its dark retelling.Score: 7/10

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Patch v1.1.0
With patch v1.1.0 a lot of balance issues of King Arthur: Knight's Tale got fixed:
Content Update for Knight's Tale - Patch v1.1.0 | May 18
Patch v1.1.0
New
- Sorting: A sort button has been added to the inventory with which players can sort all their items based on rarity
- Filtering: A filter button has been added to the inventory with which players can filter out all the class-only items
Balance
- The Knight's Tournament will be cancellable now in the Training Grounds but the cost won't be provided back
- Sir Tristan's starting equipment has been improved a bit, his starting level is 4 now and received the Jump Vanguard skill when we encounter him for the first time in the Whispering Cove mission
- Sir Tegyr's starting level has been increased to 7 from 6
- Sprint is tagged as a Movement skill now
- Leap Attack, Earth Shaker, Poison Bomb and Rain of Arrows received an Area tag
- Enemy units which occupy more than 1 grid cannot be put into a Bone Cage any longer
- Lowered the requirement of the Parry Master Challenge from 5000 to 3000
- Changed the It's a Trap! achievement's unlock criteria: Kill 5 enemies in their own round by traps in a single encounter
- Changed the Fire Walk With Me achievement's unlock criteria: every Arcanist spell will count from now on
- Decreased the Vitality and the damage output of the villagers in The Return of Morgana le Fay mission
- Various Endgame missions have been reviewed and improved
- Reviewed and slightly rebalanced several thematic enchants (Blood Magic, Wild Magic etc.)
- Rebalanced the AP/kill enchant which will grant AP once per turn from now on
- Developer comment: The combination of stacking AP per kill from various sources and the ease at which certain heroes can close the gap with enemies, combined with other, stacking on kill effects made this enchant far too powerful. We hope this change reduces the possibility to abuse this mechanic, without taking away from other builds that use it.
- Increased the cooldown of the Vanguard's Jump skill a little bit. 3 turns needed for it to be used again but with its mastery this number can be lowered to 2
- Developer comment: The Vanguard had the ability to deal massive damage, and did that without any repercussions. Jump combined with Hide was a complete safeguard for the class, no matter how aggressive or risky one played. With the changes, mistakes can be punished by the AI, and the Vanguard can't close distance so easily - thus making it harder to clear the whole backline of enemy teams with only one Hero

King Arthur: Knight’s Tale Review
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is now out of Early Access and available on Steam. Developed and published by NeocoreGames (Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor), it is a turn-based tactical game blended with character-centric RPG gameplay. Read on to learn more about this latest game from a veteran studio.
Life After Death in Camelot is Darker than ExpectedSomething about Medieval times has always had my interest. I’m not a hardcore historian of the times, I just have always found it fascinating how the world once was. But alongside the history books are the books of mythology. Some clearly with many elaborations but others are a bit closer to fact than to fiction. King Arthur: Knight’s Tale puts a new twist on what I would consider one of the better-known tales of the time. Has there ever been a time you’ve run across a new perspective or take on something you hadn’t thought of before? ‘Cause this one is pretty dang cool if I do say so.

Final Thoughts
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is another great game by NeocoreGames. Even if you aren’t a fan of turn-based strategy games I would really encourage you to check it out. The setting, gameplay and storytelling are top-notch. This game definitely deserves the Thumb Culture Platinum Award.

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Review @ Wccftech
Wccftech reviewed King Arthur: Knight's Tale:
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale Review – Make Way for the New SRPG King
Here’s a fun fact. I didn’t know much about the Arthurian tales until my interest got piqued by Sonic and the Black Knight. I know, it’s a dumb way to find out about King Arthur’s adventures. I bring this up because this very interest came back as soon as I read about King Arthur: Knight’s Tale.
My expectations were already way too high when the game came close to the release date. But then I started to see some things that made me feel mixed before jumping in. For one, this is a Kickstarter-backed project. While not every game like this is bad on its own, they also tend to be middling experiences barring a few exceptions like Shovel Knight and Bloodstained, of course.
[...]
Despite a few shortcomings, King Arthur: Knight's Tale is one of the best strategy RPGs I've played. While the SRPG aspects are pretty great, this alternate take on the Arthurian Tale can keep you engaged with its characters and stories.
Pros
- Great voice-acted cutscenes with excellent characterization
- Tight Strategy RPG elements that make every decision count
- Balanced difficulty options that allow for players to tailor their experience to their skill level
Cons
- Some performance and graphical issues
- Minor sound design problems that have certain sound effects being louder than they should be
Score: 9/10

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Release Day
King Arthur: Knight's Tale has been released today:
Launch Trailer - Fextralife Announcement
Knights,
The final day! 24 hours (give or take 1-2) remain! The full game will come out tomorrow on Steam, the plan is to update things around 7PM CEST.
A few notes:
The Kickstarter backer rewards will be distributed in the coming days (this might take a day or two), but you'll get everything you're eligible to via email, similar to the Steam keys. Make sure to check your account regularly, or if you lost access to it in the meantime, reach out to us over at support@neocoregames.com.
If you already added the game to your Steam library, the game will automatically update from Early Access to the full release when it is up. Restarting Steam could help if it is not updating.
Your Early Access save files most likely won't work for the full release. This is unfortunate, we know, and we're really sorry about it, but many things have changed in the whole game and old save files might break things quickly. We wouldn't recommend using old save files anyway, due to the amount of changes implemented - things break easily in game development.
We also have a few more cool things and announcements in our pockets:
We're happy to share with you that Cas from Fextralife will be voicing Sir Lancelot in Knight's Tale!
You might know Fextralife from their amazing wikis, guide, YouTube and Twitch channels, and you'll be able to meet Cas in Avalon too.We have a new trailer,
just in time for the release, the folks over at IGN have it. You can watch it here:loading...

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - New Release Date: April 26
The release of King Arthur: Knight's Tale has been delayed again:
New Release Date: April 26
Knights,
We have decided to move the release date of King Arthur: Knight's Tale from March 29 to April 26.
Content and gameplay-wise, King Arthur: Knight's Tale is mostly finished and ready for release, but over these additional four weeks we'll be focusing on improving voice acting and finishing localization tasks, in addition to testing, ensuring our players get the best and smoothest launch experience possible.
It wasn't an easy decision to make, but still, we think it was the right one, as our intention is to release a game we can be proud of. We'll use the additional time to iron everything out properly. At the same time, we'd like to apologize for making you wait (again) a tiny bit longer, and would like to thank you all for your continued support.
As always...

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Preview @ TBL
The Turn Based Lovers checked out King Arthur: Knight's Tale:
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale Preview
Neocore Games, the studio behind Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor and The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, are taking their grimdark style of tactical gameplay to the Middle Ages this March. Players will build their castle, manage their court, and set out on quests to save Britain from King Arthur. Yes, you read that right – despite his name being in the title, the legendary King Arthur is the bad guy in this one.
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale can be considered a sequel to the famous legend. In the famous tale, the knight Sir Mordred (who in some tellings is Arthur’s illegitimate son, in some his nephew, and in some unrelated to the king at all) leads a rebellion that culminates in a great battle. Arthur and Mordred slay one another in single combat, and Arthur’s body is taken to the mystical island of Avalon to await the day when he will return to rule over Britain once more.At the beginning of the game, it’s revealed that Arthur has returned not as the hero of destiny but as an undead monster bent on destruction. Having no other choice, the Lady of the Lake resurrects Mordred, reasoning that if the traitor killed Arthur once he might be able to do it again. As Mordred, the player must gather the remaining Knights of the Round Table who wander Avalon in a state between life and death, building a force capable of ending Arthur’s threat.

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - One Month till Release
Just a reminder from Henriquejr: King Arthur: Knight's Tale will be released on March 29:
ONE MONTH TILL THE FULL RELEASE
Knights,
This past year flew by so fast! We've launched a successful Kickstarter campaign back in October, 2020, followed by an Early Access launch in January, 2021. Now, a bit more than a year later we're getting ready to launch the full release of King Arthur Knight's Tale (March 29, 2022 as previously announced)! We'd like to thank you all for joining us early, whether joining the Kickstarter or the Early Access on Steam, supporting us and the project.
As said many times before, we'll have three more Acts, a post-campaign endgame and hours and hours of gameplay awaiting you in the full release. The game got much bigger than planned.
Beginner guides
Spoiling the rest of the story till the release would be a bit cruel, so no spoilers from now on, but until then, here's a collection of new blog posts for new players, diving a bit more into the game's mechanics, such as the RPG elements, Camelot management and so on. Treat them as beginner's guides. We'll have more of these as we're getting closer to the full release.
Whether King Arthur: Knight's Tale is your first turn-based game or you're a seasoned veteran of the genre, it's good to take a step back from time to time, and revisit the foundations:

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Delayed
Another game to be slightly delayed: King Arthur: Knight's Tale is pushed back to March 29.
Release Date Update - A Message From The Team
Knights,
in order to apply final touches and be able to provide a great launch experience, we have decided to move the release date of Knight's Tale from February 15 to March 29, 2022. The new date will make for a stronger release and a really polished version of King Arthur: Knight's Tale.
We are currently working on the last bits of the campaign and the endgame, however, there's still work to be done before we can take you to the farthest reaches of Avalon to confront the Once and Future King - and whatever may come beyond that. The wait won't be much longer and we'll make sure to have a lot of new information for you in the meantime.
As the pandemic situation is still very uncertain, we are putting health and security first, however, working from home does come with slight delays. We're confident that Knight's Tale will be ready by the end of March, and your journey in Avalon can finally begin.
We're delighted to announce that we're organizing a PvP community event, for those who supported us on Kickstarter's higher tiers, as well as streamers and members of our community. More details on that later, but make sure to sharpen your blades until then!
At the same time, we are also getting ready to show more of the campaign later this month!
Thank you for your continued support, and as always…
Avalon awaits!

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - EA Patch Tidbits
Neocore Games shared some details on an upcoming patch for the Early Access of King Arthur: Knight's Tale.
December Early Access Patch Tidbits
Knights,
December’s here, and with it soon we’ll have a new Early Access patch. And oh boy it’s an exciting one! We’re not only adding the optional PvP mode to the game, but new items, graphical enhancements and game changing balance and difficulty updates will be a huge part of this update.
We’ll announce the release date of the patch shortly, as well as post the detailed patch notes - and MOST DEFINITELY will play some (absolutely, totally fair and definitely not scripted to oneshot you if you come even close to winning kind of) PvP with you folks -, but till then, let’s see what to expect from the update on its single player side.

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - November Update
NeocoreGames announces what to expect in the next patch, a new website, a newsletter and a way to win a free exclusive skin.
November Check-in | New Ivory Defender Skin
Knights,
It's time for our next update! We don't really want to spoil everything, but as we're getting the next Early Access patch (and the full release as well) ready, we can still talk about a bunch of new additions and changes.
First and foremost, after talking to many of you about curses and injuries, we've decided to redesign the Enchanted Tower. Instead of dealing with various curses, this building will now be focusing on Artifacts with some cool and exciting upgrades. This means curses might be fully removed too, or have their roles reduced significantly - not that they played a big part in the game at this stage anyway. We're still in Early Access, so things can change of course.
[...]
IVORY DEFENDER COSMETIC SKIN AND A NEW WEBSITE
We've also redesigned our website, and launched a newsletter with it too. Those who sign up to it, will receive an exclusive IVORY DEFENDER skin for Sir Mordred upon the full release.
We'll be back soon with more info on the next Early Access patch, and don't forget, the full release is coming out on Steam on February 15, 2022!

Henriquejr spotted a new patch for King Arthur: Knight's Tale:
Content Update for Knight's Tale - Patch v0.0.5 | August 31
In this update the sixth class of Knight's Tale is introduced along with difficulty setting and controller support
Updates to King Arthur: Knight's Tale will be released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client (in on-line mode) is restarted.
Knights,King Arthur: Knight's Tale's newest patch - v0.0.5 - is out now! Compared to our previous big update where we added the maps from Act 1, this one focuses on the first iteration of new features, such as four different difficulty modes, controller support for PC, a new playable class - The Sage - and many minor additions or changes. In the meantime, parallel to this update, we're working hard to finish Act 2, 3 and 4 of the story campaign for the final release of the game.
Before jumping into the patch details, here's a brand new video (we can call it a dev diary) from our team, taking a look at how we're creating the game - including a glimpse at the combat system of Knight's Tale, how tactics shape battle, morality and its role in an immoral world and the RPG-inspired character progression.
loading...Just as before, we would be glad to hear your voice on the new changes, whether it's about the controller, the Sage or any other addition. Your feedback matters to us, so make sure to leave a comment (or comments) either on our Steam forum or on our Discord channel which can greatly help us fine-tuning the existing features. But for now, let's see what has been added in this new update.

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Interview @Gamingbolt
Gamingbolt interviewed the developers of King Arthur: Knight's Tale about Early Access, combat, story, and more.
What are your big picture plans for King Arthur: Knight’s Tale’s early access period? How long are you expecting the game to be in early access before its full launch?
We plan to be in Early Access a few months, let’s say 3-7 months, but of course it can change a tiny bit. We’ll see. We don’t have an exact release date yet; it will all depend on how the development goes and what players would like to see in the game.
What can players expect from the game in terms of content updates and fixes and their frequency during its early access period?
We’ll release regular updates to the game during this period. These updates will come more or less on a monthly basis and will include new content as well as balance and gameplay changes.
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale’s blend of classic RPG mechanics and turn-based tactical combats is an interesting choice. Can you talk about how the game harmonizes those two elements, and why you went with this particular combat system for this game?
We wanted to do something different within this genre, and mixing turn-based tactics with RPGs and even with rouge-lite elements seemed like a good idea. Adding RPG elements was obvious from the start, since our previous games were action-RPGs, so why not use the things we learnt making those games. We think that adding random loot, classic character sheets with skills and levels will make pre-planning missions a lot more fun and complex. We decided to do a turn-based game simply because we love this genre and because after numerous action-RPGs we wanted to do something different – but of course, this doesn’t mean we won’t make action-RPGs in the future.

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Patch v0.0.3
Henriquejr spotted patch v0.0.3 for the Early Access title King Arthur: Knight's Tale:
King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Patch v0.0.3
Our first Early Access content update for King Arthur: Knight's Tale is out now Knights!
The first Early Access update of King Arthur: Knight's Tale is out now! We call it the February update, since we plan to do these on a monthly basis. This update is based not just on our own testing and experience, but also on your feedback, your bug reports, and your suggestions. We're truly grateful for your help and hope you'll enjoy the new additions.
Your previous saved progress will be compatible with the latest update so you can continue where you left off.
In case you missed out on our Roadmap you can check it here as it reveals the upcoming content for the next 3 months.
Changelog:
New missions
We have added five new maps in this update, extending the map pool a bit:
- Razed Hamlet
- Secret Encampment
- Blood Rites
- Drowned Land
- Savage Magic
New playable class
A new Hero - Sir Tegyr - joins the Round Table, introducing the fifth playable class to the game: the Vanguard. Vanguards are skilled scouts, who are proficient at setting up and disarming traps, hiding and moving stealthily. They wield one-handed swords and can equip medium armor. In this build, Sir Tegyr joins the court after completing the second story map, Kingstone, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to experience and level up this character as well.
New skills and abilities
New maps need a stronger party, which means you can continue your progression and it also means new skills and active abilities are now possible to unlock.
New buildings
The Training Ground and the Enchanted Tower are now both accessible in Camelot. You can construct and later upgrade these, similar to other buildings, once you have access to Camelot.
- The Training Ground lets your Heroes gain XP while you're away adventuring so they can keep up with your main party's level.
- The Enchanted Tower works like the Cathedral or the Hospice, but this building removes various curses from your Heroes.

King Arthur: Knight's Tale - Early Access on January 12
The tactical RPG King Arthur: Knight's Tale will be released as Early Access version on January 12:
King Arthur: Knight's Tale
You are Sir Mordred, the nemesis of King Arthur, the former black knight of the grim tales. You killed King Arthur, but with his dying breath, he struck you down. You both died – and yet, you both live.
The Lady of the Lake, the ruler of the mystical island of Avalon brought you back to end a true nightmare. She wants you to go on a knightly quest. She wants you to finish what you have begun. Kill King Arthur – or whatever he has become after she took his dying vessel to Avalon.
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is a Role-playing Tactical Game - a unique hybrid between turn-based tactical games (like X-Com) and traditional, character-centric RPGs.
Knight's Tale is a modern retelling of a classic Arthurian mythology story filtered through the dark fantasy tropes, a twist on the traditional tales of chivalry.
The story campaign puts a huge emphasis on moral choices, which have significant consequences in a rogue-lite structure, adding extra tension to the tactical and management decisions.loading...Your Fights
Control a small team of heroes and fight grueling, but satisfying battles with a deeply engaging, tactical turn-based combat system.
- Diverse battle maps - Position yourself, avoid shieldwalls, flank your enemies. Use covers against archers, make use of the terrain, hide in the foliage, surprise your enemies!
- Control the battleground - Scouting ahead is important as your enemies could be hiding as well. Use traps, lure and avoid enemy combatants until you can strike safely.
- Team tactics - Choose from more than 30 heroes of 5 diverse classes to assemble an efficient team. Combine hundreds of skills and artifacts, but be careful. One misstep and your heroes could be maimed, or worse, killed permanently.
- Learn about your enemies - Opposing forces and mythical creatures will try to challenge you at every step. Pay attention to their weaknesses and strengths!
Your Heroes
No one can face the nightmare alone - gather an army of loyal knights, settle disputes and forge your own path
- The Round Table reborn - Gather your own Knights of the Round Table and send them on knightly quests. In “Knight’s Tale” these heroes are the most important resources and the most complex gameplay elements at the same time.
- Complex RPG-like characters - The character progression system is designed to be as deep as in the traditional RPGs: heroes level upon unique skill trees and the complex loot system provides unique options to fine-tune their tactical capabilities.
- Death is always final - Beware! Heroes can die during missions and the treatment of their injuries, curses, diseases takes time. You must manage them at the Round Table accordingly, planning ahead before going into battles. As heroes take time off between consequent missions, management of their injuries and selecting their substitutes are essential components of gameplay.
- A question of loyalty - Each hero has a distinctive personality. Settle disputes and grant favors to convince various knights to remain loyal to you. Some of them will observe your decisions closely, and some knights will even have conflicts with each other. It is your job to select heroes that are the best fit for your goals (and each other) at the Round Table. The heroes loyalty is constantly changing through the decisions made by the player – in certain cases they can ever leave the Round Table and turn against you.
Your Kingdom
Forge your kingdom with steel and faith - restore the order and bring an end to the nightmare unleashed in Avalon
- Explore the land of nightmares - “King Arthur: Knight’s Tale” is an imaginative take on the aftermath of the Arthurian mythology, beginning where most tales end. After his last battle, where King Arthur suffered a lethal wound, he has been taken to magical island of Avalon where he was supposed to gain immortality, but what happens when immortality means that he is simply unable to die?
- A terrible force in Avalon - The Once and Future King is now trapped in the realm of Avalon and his pain is slowly turning this magical place a nightmare version of his own Britannia, populating the land with the familiar and the uncanny.
- Your kingdom in need - See the entirety of the land presented on a strategic map, observe all fiefdoms and secret corners, select your missions and explore various places. The people are suffering, the land is plagued by nightmares and the choice is yours: will you be savior or the scourge of this cursed realm?
- Camelot reborn - Management in “Knight’s Tale” focuses on rebuilding Camelot and expanding the mystical Stronghold with new buildings that each unlock various upgrades, and also offers different ways to heal up and manage the heroes of the Round Table.
Your Legend
Whatever you do, you will shape your legend, but all your choices will have severe consequences.
- Write your own tale of chivalry - Play as Sir Mordred, the former nemesis of King Arthur. Explore the mystical island of Avalon, venture on knightly quests and make decisions in various encounters where you'll need to make moral choices, as in most RPGs, which all have impact on the story and your Morality.
- The making of a monarch - The Morality Chart represents your general alignment as a ruler. Your status between Christianity and Old Faith, between Tyranny and Righteousness. Your choices affect values on this chart, influencing both gameplay and narrative.
- The weight of decisions - Reloading is not an option in Knight’s Tale – as you make your tough choices, the fun comes from dealing with severe consequences. Based on your decisions, every playthrough can unfold differently, branching in unexpected ways in a non-linear fashion. Planning and choosing differently will result in vastly different playthroughs: your legend is shaped by every action you take.
- The end is only the beginning - The end of the campaign opens up new endgame content for the bravest of all: tough new challenges appear on the map with challenging, mythic bossfights and random quests, loot, and character progression ultimately leading to the banishing of Balor, the monstrous god-king of the Fomorians himself.
Beyond the Legend
Witness the Arthurian legend like you never have before - rich in content and presented with the highest graphical fidelity to date.
- See the world and the countless legends it harbors - Complete more than 50 unique points of interest on the Adventure Map, including 20 story missions and various side quests, taking place on diverse terrains, from the dark castle dungeons to the forests of the Sídhe.
- Tackle them one by one - Challenge 7 enemy factions, fight more than 50 types of enemy units, overcome 10 incredible boss fights throughout your quests.
- A spectacular view - The production of "Knight's Tale" relies heavily on photoscanned environments and high-quality mocap animation, all rendered inside a modern PBR engine utilizing DirectX 12, supporting strong, atmospheric effects.
