Life is Strange Episode 5 - Aiming for October 20 release

Hi, It's Luc from Dontnod Entertainment here,

We’ve seen that a lot of you can’t wait to play the Life is Strange finale and are eagerly awaiting a release date. The episode is getting closer to submission and we have almost completed development.

We don’t normally announce a date until we know the game is 100% ready but in the spirit of Max’s birthday (today) we wanted to let you know early that we are aiming to release Episode 5 ‘Polarized’ October 20.

Many things can change in the lead up to release but the team are working really hard to try and hit this date. We know the wait may be a bit longer than some of you were hoping for but we want to ensure Episode 5 is the best it can be.

Your tweets, comments and messages have kept us going through this busy stage of development and we can’t thank you enough for your continued support.

We are super excited for you to play the finale and we hope you enjoy the ride! We couldn’t have foreseen the great reaction Life is Strange has had so far, the community is fantastic and we love seeing/reading your reactions to each episode.

Share your thoughts, photos or anticipation for Episode 5 using #LISFinale

Follow our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Tumblr pages for further news nearer release.

Thank you

-Luc

Life is Strange - Episode 3 Review @ JustAdventure

by Hiddenx, 00:14

Bailey James has reviewed the third episode of Life is Strange - Chaos Theory:

Every time a new episode of Dontnod Entertainment’s Life Is Strange is released, I feel a rush of anxiety that this installment won’t be as good as the last, that the abstract magic the game creates will have been tarnished. Fortunately, that anxiety has been totally misplaced; the third episode completely lives up to the mastery of the first two, maintaining the tightly-constructed plot and twisting the gameplay to create ambiguity and raise the stakes yet again. [...]

Final Grade: A-

+ Deeper exploration of character relationships
+ Improved puzzles with more connection to the story
+ Development of new powers that escalate the plot

- Less of the excellent music and other atmospheric details
- Ambiguous ending that could end up being either brilliant or terrible

Life is Strange - Episode 3 released - Review @ IGN

by Hiddenx, 14:06

Episode 3 of the best Adventure released in 2015 so far is out:

Review by IGN:

This is the third of five chapters of Life Is Strange, an episodic game that sets out to revolutionize story based choice and consequence games by allowing the player to rewind time and affect the past, present and future.

(...)

Life Is Strange’s greatest success is in how grounded its world is, despite Max’s mysterious time-rewinding powers and the imminent end of the world. Episode 3 gives us time to breathe after Episode 2’s intense drama, but it finishes with something similarly bold. By the end of Episode 3, developer Dontnod takes an enormous and ambitious risk that succeeds in not only setting the story on a strong new path that broke my heart, but also left me ecstatic for Episode 4.
