With the Leipzig Games Convention underway and Gothic 3 one of the major attractions, a plethora of material has hit the 'net - although much of it is German. The world itself, while smaller than Bethesda's offering, is significantly more alive. Villagers fulfill their own needs by cooking up food. Mercenaries stage fights and sharpen their weapons for the next battle. Balancing the randomness that is self-serving NPCs is the meticulously hand crafted world that Gothic 3 presents. There is nothing cookie cutter about how the world is presented. It also helps that this world is, aside from the initial boot, free of load times. Whether you're entering an inn for the night or leaving a world dungeon, the transition is completely seamless.
