KnightShift: Director's Cut - Review @ GameZone

by Dhruin, 2006-06-16 08:52:00
KnightShift was originally released in the US with the cheesy name 'Once upon a Knight' - perhaps not entirely inappropriate for a humorous RTS/RPG that uses milk as the main resource. It's two years since we last tracked a review for this title but GameZone has reviewed an apparently newly-released Director's Cut. The score is a huge 9/10 - impressive, if odd, given the mediocre performance of the original release:
Out of all of the RPG and RPG style games out there, the top-down, three-quarter (or isometric) titles like Diablo or Icewind Dale always stuck out as my favorites. Dona "!t get me wrong, I love a good round of WoW or Gothic 2 with a third-person camera, but I always got into the wider viewpoint and more precise control that I felt personally those top down kinds of games had. So a ¦ KnightShift Directora "!s Cut got released on the PC, and I decided that it was right up my alley even though I havena "!t played any prior releases of it and decided Ia "!d give it a run. All being said and done, I thoroughly am enjoying it a ¦ and to top it all off ita "!s a good, light-hearted romp through a mostly serious RPG gaming world of leveling up.
