Anyone finished this or at least played for a dozen hours or so? I played for a few hours but it is terribly boring because of the Sims crap. Missions are cool but those last 10-15 minutes, then you spend double that time in your "base" doing bullshit interactions with the companions like hangouts, giving gifts, talking about their issues... honestly feels like a porn visual novel without the porn. Combat seems fun and entertaining and that is pretty much it of this game; in many moments feels like a sp mmo or a phone game. I think if it didnt have the Marvel name, would have been an obscure game forgotten after a month. I know it is cheap in the Humble Choice right no, but i do not recommend it, doesn't even deserve the comparison with XCOM.

I wanted to play this game as it looked like XCom when it was announced, but the card battle's and DRM were a huge turnoff. Ultimately the game was a sale failure.

They released the promised DLC then dropped all support.

I just spent six weeks playing the game and had a good time for the most part, save for the card-involved combat system. As a fan of exploration and of many of the characters in the game, it was nice to spend some time with these favorites. I did miss a few of my main pals though, no Piotr, nor Grimm, and many other strength-based phenoms. They obviously made the wrong choice with a card system, if it had a real turn-based combat style I believe it would have done much better in the charts.

OK, all the pro reviews say it is not like XCOM. The reviews also talk about there being a ton of dialog. What do they have to do to get people to stop buying it and then complaining because it isn't like XCOM?? Maybe rename themselves Sixarif for this one game?

Anyway, I started a topic over in the non-RPG forum when I played it: https://rpgwatch.com/forum/threads/marvels-midnight-suns.56017/

I'm just concerned that Firaxis has made the following incorrect assumptions:

1) XCOM Chimera Squad didn't do well
2) Marvel's Midnight Suns also didn't do very well

...so no one wants XCOM 3.

In fact...

1) Chimera Squad was a watered-down shell of an XCOM game
2) People are rapidly getting sick of the superhero genre (Marvel especially). It's played out.

XCOM 3. It's safe. We want it.
