Gaming BS of the week

So that dragon critically hitting my tank for 76 damage and leaving him stunned for 14.3 seconds was actually programmed to to critically hit exactly my tank at that exact moment for exactly 76 damage and stun him for exactly 14.3 seconds? And here I thought those numbers were just randomly generated within some parameters.

You're on the right track now. The dragon has some parameters but it's always the same dragon. The league, championship or whatever doesn't - the content of the lootbox changes based on random generator. You're never sure what team, besides yours, will rush to the top on each replay.
Thus if it's rpg then random generator is roleplaying it while you're just sitting back and watching the show.

A lot of RPGs have random battles. Some even pop-up at random times not allowing you to prepare properly.

Ah, outdated Final Fantasy designs where invisible filler trashmobs were called random encounters. I avoid such "rpgs" like a plague.

Nearly all recent rpg i've played have some sort of random encounter. The only ones that don't have finite mobs. But for example witcher 3 does have random spawns. I seem to remember that you not only played witcher 3 you actually liked it but perhaps i am mistaken ?

A new case of gaming media professional reviewers bullshit:
pic.jpg

What world those reviewers live in? Hotel owners world?
Of course it's not all about this scam product. EA's "moral" police EA is in fact hush police:

Now imagine if actual FIFA banned football players for criticizing VAR. Of course you can't because noone got banned over criticizing the new system and many did criticize it.
EA should rename their company into "Bullshit Arts".

Trolling, paid advertisment or slow day where any headline will do on PC Gamer?
Decide yourself:
https://www.pcgamer.com/play-battlefield-5-during-its-first-week-and-get-two-free-in-game-items/
Play Battlefield 5 during its first week and get two free in-game items
Two? It's christmas!
Meanwhile on no_p2w_gamer sites (rpgwatch included) a headline: buy The Witcher 3 and you get all ingame items for free. Including ones from mods.

Xbox magazine FO76 interview:
https://wccftech.com/fallout-76-has-150-hours-side-content/
Bethesda Game Studios recently talked about the game with The Official Xbox Magazine (December 2018, issue 170) and they’ve revealed that there will be a huge amount of content to match the map (which is four times bigger than Fallout 4’s). In fact, besides the main quest, there’ll be over 150 hours worth of side content at launch.
Wait what? There is a main quest?

Although just a rumor, just one more about mmos before I vomit:
https://wccftech.com/bungie-starting-development-destiny-3/
According to Reddit insider AnonTheNine, who’s well respected in the Destiny community, Bungie is now beginning to work on Destiny 3. The game will apparently feature Europa as a playable location – as you might remember, the above concept art of Europa was first showcased by Bungie during the first Destiny reveal press conference in February 2013.

AnonTheNine also provided additional details, such as that Destiny 3 will be more hardcore than even the last expansion, Forsaken, and feature even more RPG elements.
Throw me the bucket!

You do mean ProgressQuest, do you ?

By the way, what's truely "random" ? It's hard to say what's really "random", because ""randomness" can be … evoked in similar ways. It always depends on the Library ( a .DLL or whatever ) and how "randomness" is implemented there.

Rockstar saga continues. I guess it's no bad press exists phylosophy, more fuss = more sales.

Red Dead Redemption 2 devs say you should speak out on crunch, but don’t boycott the game
Again Rockstar says what we should. Seriously? Again?
Just like I won't write to (any) government lootboxes are good, I also won't discuss american_dream=crunch.
Will I boycott the game, of course, depends on hairworks feature, motion blur toggle and 60FPS yes/no.

If one is interested in this particular crunch case, most recent articles:

Additional Rockstar staff speak out: 80+ hour work weeks, being left off in-game credits if quitting, more

Rockstar developers speak out on 'death march' crunch
The source article:

Interestingly, noone of those "victims" stated they protested against business shift to microtransactions scamware.

In a situation you definitely don’t see every day, a DICE developer working on Battlefield 5 has been banned from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Florian Le Bihan, core gameplay designer on Battlefield 5, has taken to Twitter to air his grievances about getting unfairly banned from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Le Bihan believes the ban has something to do with his excellent performance in multiplayer. In an effort to prove his innocence, Le Bihan posted a video showing off some of his best kills.
If I'm right, the guy banned who is now a developer is in fact ex-pro player (fnatic). Why is this bs? Because ban, okay, but let the guy know the reason behind it at least.

EDIT: Update, seems he's now unbanned. :EndEDIT

However, there is another, bigger, bs in the article comments. Pic-proof:

Might as well upvote it too there, just for lols.

Too silly; not worth the bits people spend on the video.

[edit]
In case there is confusion by my response; I think this is silly and moronic that people would raise a fuss and want to have someone fired. The persecution is far worse than the harmless oops. Crise why should GOG even be 1/2 hearted aware of moronic usa politics.

There's an obvious easy solution to that.
GOG deleting their social networks accounts.

Because they do business in the USA and by using that hash tag they brought it upon themselves, whether they wanted it or not.
Of course, doxxing people over such tweets is not acceptable, but they should hire better PR team in the future. Or re-train the existing team.

Now I'm gonna be mean: Don't like how things work in the Biz?
THEN STOP PUTZING AROUND.

All creative industries are about extreme overtime. ALWAYS.
Be it film, music, advertising, gaming, TV, whatever -- if there is an uncertainty factor involved ("geez, this is not good enough, work on it more"), there will be crunch.

I'm in the games biz for 25+ years, and I'm not complaining about working hard.
Never complained, never will. This is my job and I love it.

Bottom line:
If you are weak, don't go working in the mines. This is tough guy territory.

High five as I rarely use social media nowadays.:highfive:

As it's either drama, scammers, or hackers on Facebook nowadays.

"OK, Jeremy, thanks for sharing. Now, try not to get excited, but you could tell us about this image from this morning's session? Why did you remove their eyes and replace them with symbols of your rage?"

Quite simple the blue eyes are a Twitter check-mark for SJW's so hence the outrage Twitter users have the mark for eyes. Also notice the megaphone the person is holding.

Now the dog's eyes are a metaphor for their hate against GOG. So you see the dog has GOG in it's eyes as it's their main target being scolded. It's all metaphorical art.
