Bethesda gives thanks to their fans:

Thanks and Updates for Fallout 4

Thank you! We can't say it enough- thank you for the amazing support you've given us. We're incredibly blessed to have so many incredible fans. You've made Fallout 4 not just our largest game launch ever, but one of the industry’s. It's beyond anything we hoped for.

Seeing and reading your stories have given our whole studio immense joy. It's amazing to see what you've done with the game, what you've discovered, and what you've built! We know there's even more to come; the game is full of hidden gems and ways it can be played.

For some, the freedom the game offers can be overwhelming. We know the game throws a lot on you at once, so take your time. There are many moments of “How does this work? What do I do to survive?” and that’s how your character should be feeling as well. Those that push through should be able to look back at who they were when they stepped out of the Vault and say, “I made it. I understand this world now and it’s mine.”

It's true that the freedom our games offer you can lead to unintentional consequences that are sometimes bad, when the game combines too many unexpected elements at once. Given the scale and complexity of the systems at work, especially when allowing you to build your own settlements, we're happy that Fallout 4 is our most robust and solid release ever, and we'd like to thank our amazing QA staff who worked as hard as anyone to break the game so we could fix it during development. But a hundred testers will never replicate the many millions playing the game now, and we're hard at work addressing the top issues.

Our process for updating the game will include releasing a beta patch on Steam, followed by full release on PC, then release on the consoles. This process has worked well for us in the past and allows us to get more fixes out faster. Expect to see more updates, that are smaller and more frequent, than a few big ones. This allows us to make sure each fix is working right, as any change can have unintentional side effects in a game this huge. We expect the first beta patch to be up next week.

If you have feedback or issues to let us know about, contact our support staff here.

Thanks again for everything. We look forward to our continued journeys together.

Kind of mixed feelings. Yes it's fun to explore and find new items, as it was both in Skyrim and FO3 but it's nothing different than those games. My last Bethesda game bought unless something drastically changes and by change i don't mean removing things completely :)

I keep finding a lot of hidden things in the game. Cogsworth and his hat, Dogmeat and his toys, hidden messages, teddy bear situations, and tips from other players. Always like finding this stuff. Think they did a great job overall.

Greatly enjoying FO4 which is a bit surprising since I never got into FO3.

It definitely has flaws though. Enemy AI, poor GUI and the environment and peoples reaction to my deeds being tops on my list.

Overall though great fun and it has me looking forward to the next chance I'll get to play. Which is rare for me.

My thoughts exactly.

Not a game to rush through. Patience and exploration is rewarded. Enemies too tough? Beef up and come back later. I find taking out limbs and weapons on enemies works well when trying not to get owned.

They deserve all the praise and support they can get, in my opinion.

I think they'd deserve the praise and support they get if they'd cancel one of their TV ad campaigns and shifted those funds into hiring more QA. I don't expect perfect games, but I do expect a company that made $1.4 billion in sales off their last game to have better QA.

This is one of those special RPGs that let you wind down after a hard day in the wasteland, head back out, adventure, rinse repeat.

I have been playing this and Hearts of Stone at the same time, and it feels super natural - I can see myself sticking around the wasteland for a long, long time through many other games.

I had an idea for an amusing single picture cartoon this afternoon, but I lack the artistic talent to draw it.

Imagine two Star Trek holodecks next to each other, both with a man/woman outside collecting tickets as people enter. On the left is a state of the art quality holodeck displaying a $29.99 pricetag and on the right is a Bethesda holodeck displaying a $69.99 pricetag. Inside the quality holodeck is crisply perfect images and enthralling dialogue and interesting plot, inside the Bethesda one is images of people half hanging out of walls, characters flickering like Princess Leia coming out of R2D2's beam, lots of sounds of gunfire and people barking nonsensical words at each other.

The queue for the first holodeck has two people in it, the queue for the Bethesda holodeck is out the door and down the road...

Games are funny. Not in a humorous way, though. They're like wine. When someone asks which is the best, the answer is the one that pleases your personal taste.

No one said you have to like what anyone else likes. If it doesn't meet your standard, don't buy it or play it. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it 'bad'. Conversely, our liking it doesn't may us fan boys or company suck-ups. I like what I like and don't like what I don't like based solely on my own opinion. I don't buy into hype or follow crowds just to be hip. If something punches my buttons, I go for it regardless of popular opinion either way.

Did someone pee in your corn flakes this morning?

Yes it is a great game!
It definitely can be improved, and here's hoping that the mods, updates, and DLCs will help.
If I had to rate it I would put it 82%.... The reason being that it could be improved... but what IS there is really good!
Improve the settlement building somewhat, Improve the dialogue(!!!) and make it possible to play extremes, such as pacifist or sociopath.

Its just another in a long line of childish posts by him, apparently its not enough just to say he doesn't like a game and post why.

he has to post in every thread about it and apparently has to get pretty vulgar as well. Not sure why it bugs him so much when people like stuff he doesn't.

He's 12 pretending to be 21, maybe? Time to put him on ignore and wait 4 or 5 years. Maybe he'll grow up or move back to the Codex. They "enjoy" oiled anus conversations and the 75 IQ will fit right in there :D
