This looks more like a straight action game to me, but I suppose they'll label anything as an action-rpg nowadays to get more looks.

Well it's actually action game with RPG elements but that doesn't fit marketing.

Yeah, "action-RPG" can be used either way, but it seems like it's getting thrown around more than ever now and even with games that barely have any RPG elements.

As I understand it, no. It's just taking place in the same universe.

*Edit* Correction: It's not even the same canon universe apparently.

As am I. I'm quite sick of superhero films. There doesn't seem to be any shortage of superhero films nowdays. I like a good action film, but superhero / comic stuff just usually just turns me off.
