S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 - The Importance of Chornobyl's Realism

Oops.

A story on Vortex reports (in Czech) on a fire in the Prague offices of Polish developer GSC Game World (thanks VGC). The Ukrainian developer set up shop in the Czech Republic due to the war in its homeland. At this point it's not clear what impact this might have on development of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, the upcoming shooter sequel. Here's a machine translation:

One of the three floors of the GSC Game World studio was said to have been affected by the fire. We have a photo from the scene which indicates that the fire devastated the office equipment and the interior itself. However, we cannot publish it. It was said to be the most important floor with backup servers. The other two were not affected by the fire. We have no information at this time as to whether this event may affect the completion of the game in any way.

Update: On Saturday afternoon, the Vortex information we originally provided was confirmed by GSC business development manager Olga Ryžko (Olga Ryzhko) as correct. A fire actually broke out in the Prague office on Thursday. "Fortunately, none of the staff or office workers were injured, which is a great relief," she told Vortex. "Although the fire was extinguished, one of the floors of the office now requires complete reconstruction. Further details of the accident are still being investigated," she added.
