This is NOT "Rogue Trader" survey.

Its for Owlcat Games fanbase in general. I've completed the survey and it appears to be Owlcats trying to determine what their fanbase would like to see as their next game etc.

I found the link on the steam update on Rouge Trader so yeah it was posted as such.

I'd fill in the survey, but I suspect I'd not be helping the developers with my answers as both their games since Pathfinder Kingmaker have strayed away from the kind of game I like and doubled down on the most of the things I don't.

So anything I'd suggest would probably go very contrary to the fanbase they've created on the path they've chosen.

I'd be, like, finally, they've nailed it, while the 300k people who've followed them for all the 'other stuff' would be, like, WTF is this? Where's the supplemental mini-strategy game? Where's the companions? Where's the cooking recipes? etc.

Disagree. Owlcat has been massively successful these past years and now have the capital to launch (and in some cases publish) multiple titles.
If you like companions, as you said, that would be interesting data for them.

Owlcat is a good example of how a good company is run. Every new game they make is better than the last, in good part because they keep in close touch with their fanbase.

I hope they stay like this, I really can't wait to see what they cook up next.

Maybe I didn't word my post in the clearest way, to which I apologise, but I stated I'd prefer not to have companions. It'd be nice if RPGs got back to the whole 'create your party' mindset, if just for a few games every now and then.

And Owlcat are obsessed with making unlimited build possibilities, but have chosen to, instead, nurture the companion-loving section of the audience, which is silly if you ask me.

I thought I read somewhere that warhammer was the next setting. Perhaps they’re deciding on what comes during/after that.
Correct they already said a new Warhammer game was the goal, but right now they are patching and working on DLC. The survey is just to see what buyers want.

Once again I love companions, romance, base building and battles. So I'm happy.

Where did you see this? AFAIK, Owlcats said they would like to do another Warhammer but didn't say its their next game (as in, after RT).

They have 3 teams atm - Pathfinder (working on WotR DLC6), RT and unannounced new game team.

I heard they allocated decent amount of budget for WotR DLC6 so I'm excited. I loved DLC5 (The Lord of Nothing) and hoping DLC6 will be on par in terms of quality but larger scope.

I prefer where you build 4 or 6 characters and then 1-2 characters can join your party while adventuring for specific quests or to provide some kind of additional service like in M&M6/7/8. Wasteland was good as well i.e. make some and recruit some.

@purpleblob is correct. They didnt say that they are going to do fantasy Warhammer in the interview. They are doing DLCs and have some more stories from W40k.

Yes, this works just as well. Just as long as devs don't then interpret this as escort missions, lol.

Seeing the questions and the past job offers, I wouldn't be surprised it they had an action RPG in mind, on top of whatever other TB RPG they may plan to make.

Some questions were a little too private for a game developer, IMO. I didn't answer those or answered randomly.

The questions I saw from sources posting screenshots of them seemed to suggest the questions were too vague to be usefully relevant IMO.

Which elements seem most important for you (rate 1-5):
3. Gameplay
6. Game Mechanics

for example. I mean, surely the answer depends on the question. What kind of gameplay? What kind of mechanics?

They don't ask what players thought of specific aspects of their previous games, they ask generic questions that could mean anything to anyone.

"Following the results of the survey, we've found that people want gameplay! So we've made the inventory literally tetras. When you 'loot all' you now have to match up the loot falling into your inventory as it drops, if you fail then you miss all that loot."

You asked for it, what do you mean you don't like it?

And tis seems to be an industry-wide thing that is doing the rounds in all big corporations. I recently had to fill one out at work. It doesn't ask you if you think you're paid enough, it asks instead if you think the company could do more to enable you to enjoy the job more, which is much more nebulous and gives them much more freedom to do whatever they like if people answer yes.

It's a sort of nonsense to make employees/players think they are 'contributing' to the outcome of likely preplanned decisions. A sort of pre-emptive spin to future excuses.

With that I agree completely! :)
