Game Developer reports that the developer Something Wicked lays off most of the staff:

A current employee claims the studio had to let go most of its staff, almost two years after it was founded.

These guys never even got off the ground. The studio was only just founded in 2022.

As has been mentioned in other threads: The gaming industry is just not sustainable in its current form. It's a bit like the dot com bubble, where the investments just didn't match the potential returns. The gaming market is huge, but it's not infinite, so the roller coaster was always going to come down. Hopefully, it'll stabilize soon at a more reasonable level.
