I honestly don't know what restrictions might be in place ... but Stardock just sent out 50% off coupons to all current owners to share with family / friend (single use).

How is the game? I saw some videos that looked great, but then I heard it doesn't even have a storyline for the single-player campaign - that it simply plays out like a round-robin tournament.

It's supposed to be pretty similiar to DotA. Which is on my "favorite non-RPG's" list for a very good reason.
