I never played any of the previous games, but just because it's from FromSoft I was at least interested.
And the just now released gameplay and other previews have actually got me kind of excited.
So I preordered it. I was already expecting to do it, just because I've loved everything FromSoft have done so far.
But I'm actually more excited for this than Starfield.

Just remember FromSoft has stated this is not Dark Souls. Just a friendly warning.

Now as for me I love mech games so I'll definitely play this.

Recently we were given an opportunity to travel to L.A. to play Armored Core 6 in person with FromSoftware and Bandai Namco. We also were given an opportunity to pilot a real-life mech which was pretty cool. And in this video, I want to talk about our impressions from that event and tell you what we think about Armored Core 6 so far and what you can expect when the game comes out next month August 25th.

I'm glad it's not a soulslike. I don't think that gameplay would translate well to this setting.

It's certainly pretty. I'm much more excited about the expansion for Elden Ring though.

Footage from the pre-launch showcase. A good amount gameplay shown here, although they do waste a lot of time showing PvP which I didn't find interesting at all.

Since I don't like mech's this will be the first fromsoft game I'm skipping in quite some time.

I'd probably give it a try if the launch wasn't such bad timing. Their decision to release this one week before Starfield is a strange one. Maybe they figure it won't be impacted much because it's an action game, but still...

I think it looks pretty slick though. It's definitely something I'll grab eventually when there's a slow spell for RPGs. (How's that for a pun?)

Here's the first review I've seen. IGN seems to think it's pretty solid.

It looks like fun, but the Armored Core games never seem all that mech-y.
The fluidness makes it feel like it might as well be some dude in a suit or a human sized robot rather than a "mech". I like the feeling of weight and momentum that older/western mech games give, so that they feel like large mechanical constructions.
