BioShock, Shader Model 2.0 Work in Progress!

Hi all, thought this might be useful to anyone whom has not yet upgraded their graphics cards.
So for he has it working pretty well and the only downsides are long loading times between levels (up to 5 min) and some missing/ugly textures.

Would you be kind enough to link to the post where they say they'll do it when the petition reaches 5k signatures? I really don't feel like trawling through a 33 page thread for the info on dialup (and the page count is growing by the hour)?

Honestly, I don't think I will have time the same reason as you, but if I come accross it, I will post it. :)
I have been scanning tons of threads totaling 100s of pages (no joke) for the last week mostly to prevent others from having to do it, plus obiviously I am intrested,
I don't really want to go back through it all again. :)

Just out courisity, if your intrested in helping out the people whom only have SM 2 or if you have it yourself isn't that enough or do you mean as some debate issues your intrested in?

If it's debate, there does seem to be confustion with the petition and the Wide Screen issue but don't think that has been resolved, at least I have seen yet.

* The BioShock for PC Patch Petition (thanks Acleacius) looks to inspire an official patch for video cards with no SM 3.0 support (story). Some have said that 5000 signatures will trigger a patch, but this seems to be confusion with the Special Edition petition (story)

"The team has announed today (Thrusday) they have rewritten the Shader Code for 2.0 but they hare haveing the issues with long load times and the Team also reports that have made contact with 2K/Irrational."

Ok guys, here is the Bioshock Alpha Test. Download the file and extract it as in the following example :
E:\Games\Bioshock Demo\Builds\Release

You may want to make a backup copy of your shaders.spk file before puting this in because it will overwrite.

Known issues : increased loading time even more due to the fact that this shader is not in any of the shadercache.pcs files .
Please make screenshots with global lighting option turned both on and off.
Sorry if i ask too much, i know loading can be boring.
If you encounter any freezes while changing options, don't panic, the pc didn't freeze. It takes longer to apply new settings.

Some huge progress over the weekend. :)

Console break through, a thread member is the first to get the Dev Console to display.

Most if not all non correct colors have been removed, by deactivating some lighting effects, with the only side effect of a little darker than normal.

Beta 1, they have it almost as good as the 3.0, from the videos they have listed on the blog, wow!
