Looks like some big changes are coming to one of the new Witcher games that CD Projekt announced in October 2022. On March 20, the company revealed that the new Witcher game in development at The Molasses Flood in Boston, codenamed Project Sirius, underwent an "evaluation" of its "scope and commercial potential" against the original concept. Based on that evaluation, CD Projekt decided to take an "impairment allowance" of close to $10 million. Video game business reporter Game Over Thirty said CD Projekt's move here suggests a "complete scrapping" of the existing version of Project Sirius. CD Projekt's statement went on to say that the company will now work on "formulating a new framework for this project."

Redfall is right around the corner, and GameSpot recently had a hands-on session with Arkane Austin's latest game. Here's our early thoughts on Redfall. Arkane Studios is known for a very specific kind of game: immersive sims. The team made its mark on the industry with intricate sandboxes that feature systems and mechanics interacting with each other in fascinating ways. Games like Dishonored and Dishonored 2 are standout examples of why the developer is heralded as a master of the genre. But, in recent years, the studio has started to reassess what it means to be an Arkane game. Prey, while still a science-fiction take on the immersive sim genre, served as the foundation for Mooncrash, a DLC that reconfigured the game into a roguelike. Deathloop leaned harder into that genre by embracing the run-based format to break down what makes an immersive sim so compelling and asking the player to examine the pieces and put them back together.

"Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars" will be released on PlayStation4, XBOX ONE, STEAM and Nintendo Switch in 2023.

Diablo 4's first beta only gave us a glimpse of the full game, but Travis Northup is already very impressed by what he's played. There’s still a huge amount to see before we get anywhere close to a final review, but stellar dark storytelling, the best combat in a Diablo game to date, and a live-service foundation that aims to chart out a strong future for this beloved action-RPG series is encouraging so far.
