I saw Skill-Up's review of Golum and it's pretty mind-boggling. Apparently at least half of the game is just doing chores inside Baradur as Golum.
Plus you get to direct the actions of a companion (either a bird or a human). Kind of impressive what their minds thought to do.
It really shows that the Tolkien estate no longer controls the IP, and it's now fully in the hands of corporations (Amazon and Embracer Group)

Actually, I'm not surprised. I had a feeling it might be a stinker.
Hehe it was sarcasm. Text doesn't work so well!

I also expected it to not be very well received. I think in general they overestimate how "beloved" Gollum is as a character. He's more of a meme.

The gameplay being kind of dull doing just mundane things around doesn't help either I suppose.

In this video, I want to give my initial impressions and reaction of the newly announced action role-playing game sequel and talk about the gameplay and information that we know from looking at the Dragon's Dogma 2 trailer.

A new Diablo game means tons of dungeon crawling, loot gathering, and PvP combat waiting for you, and Diablo IV offers more of all of it than ever before. From campaign to PvP, to Strongholds, here's everything you need to know about Diablo IV.
Talking about some of the ways TRPG combat has become a bit stale and some games that tried to push some innovation recently.

Oh. I didn't know that Daedalic does the game.

However, I would have *never* come up with the idea to have Gollum as a protagonist. I wonder what the initial idea was ?

The Gollum game is not one I would have ever bought myself, but as a developer it dignifies them a bit to make a public apology. They'll need to try better next time around, and hopefully pick a more charismatic protagonist for their game.

Perhaps, but they make it sound as if the only problem was bugs, and that they'll fix them as soon as possible. Critics are usually clement with bugs; many don't even mention them. CP2077 was in poor shape, yet it never had scores as humiliating as this game. It's more than just bugs.

I understand that they have to react publicly, but it sounds hollow.

I don't get that apology. There's no way parts of that organisation were not aware of the issues raised in testing yet still released the game in that form. That's an insult to their customers again being used as a test phase.

I know this is not a rare occurrence, but I wonder if it is a problem related to the sheer number of early access games we have now?

It's hard to understand for me too. The most common negative critics are: it's boring, the stealth mechanics are poor, the controls are clunky, and it's full of bugs.

Many games release with bugs, so they may let it pass if they are running out of time. The clunky controls may be perceived as a temporary problem by the QA (if there's a QA); perhaps it just needs some practice and maybe it's not impossible to improve that a little, so it may pass too.

But together with the other negatives, it looks unrecoverable.

Perhaps it's just poor leadership? I see that Nacon acquired Daedelic Entertainment last year. That's another publisher that's been buying quite a few companies recently, by the way, though it's not at all the same level as Embracer Group, XBox Game Studios, or EA.

I usually think of a publisher "rushing out" a game, not a developer.
Especially since Daedalic belongs now to a bigger group.

This video covers the completion of a new mission in turn based PC rpg, Prometheus Wept. In this mission, you will investigate an old world research lab, running afoul of its territorial guardian.
Tonight is a long, sad tale of bravery and betrayal, and the great blight of Destruction that changed the very fabric of our world after the Burning Hells and the High Heavens discovered Sanctuary's existence.
Imagining a Open World "Game of Thrones" Game in Unreal Engine 5, A Dream that could be Come True. Have you ever considered a Game of Thrones video game? undoubtedly all the gamers who saw that show imagined the game. We tried to make this dream a reality with the help of the most advanced Unreal Engine feature such as ray tracing, screen space reflections, Lumen, Nanite, hope you enjoy!
Weird West is an immersive sim, RPG, twin stick shooter...something, from ex-Arkane developers. With the definitive edition out and done it's a perfect time for a review.

Have I ever considered a Game of Thrones video game? As a matter of fact, I recall playing the GoT RPG from Cyanide. This guy apparently didn't bother to check if there were already any games based on GoT.

Final Fantasy 16 is just a few weeks away but is already one of the most hyped games this year. The more mature storyline, dark fantasy approach, real-time combat and gorgeous visuals have only fueled that hype as the months have passed. It's finally out on June 22nd worldwide for PS5, but some new details are already available courtesy of various previews, not to mention the latest trailer from the PlayStation Showcase.
What’s up dads, grads, and everyone else - June is here and with it, a ton of massive video games. June’s usually pretty slow game release-wise, but this year, that is not the case. From Street Fighter 6, to Final Fantasy 16, to Diablo IV here are the biggest games out this month.

I'm not getting a great vibe from FFXVI. Right away, only controlling one character and it not being a party turns me off. I was hoping Squeenix could parley some of that VII remake magic into the next game, but doesn't seem like it to me so far.

Yeah FFXVI is a pass for me. It sounds like it can be a good game, but the action combat and fixed single protagonist turn me off. That, and I couldn't get into XV, which doesn't do much for my trust on the franchise.

I'm more looking forward to see real gameplay and maybe a release date for Avowed soon, it's been a few years now since they showcased the first trailer.

I answer many questions that have been asked over the last few weeks, so hopefully people can watch this video and refer back to it if those questions are asked again.
I talk with celebrated game developer Leonard Boyarsky, with whom I have collaborated for thirty years. We begin the chat with how he got started in the business, and then he answers many questions about Fallout that have been asked in this channel. He promised to return on a later date to answer questions about Fallout 2, Arcanum, and Vampire Bloodlines.
Talking about a few games that saw a fairly poor reception that I personally still really enjoyed playing!
