Name that game!

Nice catch Prime Junta.

I was in the middle of exploring ways to play it again when I noticed this thread.

@Sir Markus

I've seen the one with the girl and monster. Maybe at a friends house looooong ago, but I just can't recall the name. I may not have ever even asked the name, but that pic is driving me crazy! It's weird recalling some little memory after so many years.

It's an old Microprose game called The Legacy. It was actually pretty cool.

I'm going try to find something hard for you guys - since you're all selecting easy ones :)

How about this one:

That's Drakkhen, easier to remember the graphic style than spell the name.

Here's another one. It's either real easy... or not.

@MaskedMan: Yup, that's Catacomb 3D :).

Another one from my collection of hybrids (and once again the picture was supplied by Moby Games):

Looks way way way too advanced for Akalabeth.

Nope, not Akalabeth.

(This is a bit of a trick question one, actually.)

It's an Ultima but I don't know the mac versions very well (or the PC ones for that matter). Heh, I'll say the third as the gif is u3 ;)

It wouldn't have been on a monochrome monitor ;)

I don't know what the mac versions looked like maybe they were mono?

Correct -- it was Ultima 3.

It's one of the most thorough game ports I've ever seen, even up to today. The UI was completely Macified, with everything tucked away nicely in the menus, and of course the graphics were redone in monochrome.

Let's see if you can get this oldie - which was one of the first "action RPGs", I guess.

You get two screens, as it might be a bit hard.

But some of you are veterans, obviously, so I shouldn't underestimate you :)

Here's another for any Mac-heads present. This was a big deal in the late 1980's -- not that there was all that much choice in the Mac gaming scene in the pre-Myst days. Screenie slightly redacted to remove the name of the game from it.
