Sword Coast Legends - News Update

Agree that the decisions made in the design really seem to have been an own goal, shooting yourself in the foot, whatever you want to call it. It is pretty mind boggling. I've been actually waiting on CP3 before playing as it was claimed to include build your own party options... Wonder if I'll play it at all now.

Oh dear… Sorry to hear that. Sword Coast Legends had a lot of potential. I don't think some simplifications would have killed the game from the beginning. But in the end it was a little bit too simplistic. It's sad that now there will never be a revised version or sequel.

I guess we can conclude that Sword Coast Legends was a financial failure, at least for n-Space.

First problem I see is marketing it as a D&D game when it clearly wasn't. This got core fans very upset. No matter how bad or good the game was, if it wasn't based on D&D, middle of the road to hardcore fans would rip it apart.

Second problem I see what trying to make it for everyone. Single person, Dungeon Master etc.

I never thought it was going to be much and if it was playable it would be a nice surprise.

Well it was playable, the few hours I put into it. I was waiting for patches etc before I got into it more, though it would seem that window is gone now.

I'll probably still buy the PS4 version when it comes out. I was really looking forward to this. :(
