Ok, it might sound a bit strange, but I need this. My typical usage is recording sound clips in MSN of whatever Winamp is playing right now, and this worked perfectly. Still, I had the bright idea of messing with Audio settings in MSN and now it doesn't work (neither in MSN, nor in the Windows Sound Record thingie).
I've searched, but I haven't found anything that'd help (did find one guy with the opposite problem, but no definite solution there either). I've also looked at the various settings, but Windows Audio settings are cryptic at best. I've got Realtek AC97 integrated audio, if that helps.
So... help?
(for the record, the setup used to work even when I occasionally plugged a real mic in - it recorded both the speaker output and whatever I was saying, which was also perfect for my needs)
EDIT: Fixed. I needed to pick "Stereo Mix" (there's also a "Mono Mix" that'd probably work) option in the recording part of volume control.
