Ever? I like this. Better than the top ## games. Name your fave, put up or shut up!

Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor

Planescape: Torment
Wizardry 8 and Arcanum a close second
Realms of the Haunting.
I replayed it for the last time when I still had Win XP. I don't remember if I had to use VDMS or not, but I didn't need DOSBox. I don't know about Vista or Win7, though.I really need to try that game. Does it run on modern systems?

POR2! Excellent taste!
Thanks Jaz, I'm definitely going to give RotH a try. Surprisingly, it's still possible to get a brand new boxed copy from Ebay. I'm going to order one tonight.
Another game I might have to try again, assuming you guys aren't just being sarcastic. I remember thinking the demo was *terrible*, and every review I read seemed to confirm that the full game was exactly that.
Ultima 3 on my Atari 800. That's the game that gave me the CRPG bug somewhere back in 1983 or thereabouts.

I think this was the best Ultima game, but that's just my opinion.
Don't expect good or even substandard writing and dialogue. You will not find any in this game. The quests are boring, the characters are forgetable and the setting is a HUGE waste of an opportunity.
With all that said, there are a few 'not so bad' qualities about the game. Mostly combat. Although if you're looking for a combat game or strategy one then KOTC or TOEE are ten times….NO, strike that, they're a thousand times better than this one. The only redeeming qualitiy in this game is that it had some monsters in it that I never fought against before. That was the only thing that was remotely interesting.
As well as the speed utility being a must is the patch. It's an odd patch because it actually substitutes for the installer.
