Is CDPR developing Orion and the next Witcher game simultaneously? I know they grew, but that would take a lot of people power.
They are opening three North American studios to work on future games. I know Boston and Vancouver was mentioned. I can't remember the third location. Is CDPR developing Orion and the next Witcher game simultaneously? I know they grew, but that would take a lot of people power.

EA rolls out new EA app for Windows to replace Origin - GamedeveloperWhile he walked among His people, the Emperor denied His own divinity, yet His final, eternal sacrifice and interment upon the Golden Throne served to prove His godhood to the bereaved masses. Eventually, the Emperor came to be worshipped by a staggering array of different groups, often possessed of highly divergent ideas regarding His life, death, and continued existence. It must be noted that seeds of this religion were sown by those who are now viewed as heretics of the highest order by the Imperium - the ultimate irony of the Imperial Creed.
The EA app has officially left its open beta phase and according to the FIFA and Battlefield publisher "will soon replace Origin as our primary PC platform." EA described its new platform as its "fastest and lightest PC client to date," and said a new streamlined design will help users more easily find games and content. The EA app will automate game downloads and background updates to enable users to hop into games pronto. Users will also be able to build out their friends list by connecting their EA account to other platforms and services like Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation.
Stellaris's game director isn't thinking about a sequel - PCGamerIn the summer of 2020 we started BioSynth: Rising.
Deathloop and Dishonored universes are connectedIt's strange to think that, after more than 6 years of enduring popularity, Stellaris was once a bit of a gamble for Paradox. Even now the developer remains best known for historical grand strategy, but this weird sci-fi 4X ended up slotting neatly into its dense library of games. Since then, it's been reconfigured, overhauled, gone through multiple game directors and spawned 16 expansions, species packs and story packs (opens in new tab). No matter what brand of sci-fi is closest to your heart, you'll likely find it represented in this humungous cosmic conflict.

Lost Eidolons - The Tactician’s Guide to Artemesia #2Your friendly neighborhood ODS GeeK here. In case you don’t know me: I am the Digital Content Manager at Ocean Drive Studio, and am mostly known for my appearance on the monthly dev chat streams, as well as my heavy use of cat GIFs in our Discord server.
I’m ODS ThorThor, Ocean Drive Studio’s Communications Director, which is just a fancy way of saying I work a little bit on all the mediums used to present and talk to you about our games. Exciting, I know. But today, I’m happy to be left alone at my desk to discuss the broad topic of characters in Lost Eidolons.
Archmage Rises Update #154 - Quest Designer (Early Look)Hello everybody - it's time for our monthly progress update. There was no update last month because we were in the process of switching our marketing partner, but everything is back to normal now.
Xenonauts 2 is now being published by Hooded Horse, a specialist strategy publisher who we think are a really good fit for the type of game we're making. This publishing deal is purely a marketing partnership, so Hooded Horse have no control over the design of the game, but they'll be handling future community updates and helping build some buzz around the game as we approach Early Access (which is finally approaching, and is planned for the first quarter of 2023).
This means you'll start seeing trailers and updated screenshots for the game in the near future, which should show off the progress we've made in recent months!
Medieval Dynasty - Fall UpdateThis week, we share the beginning of our quest designer. You might remember Thomas demonstrating the Bard tooling in an early video; we’re moving that tool forward to work with our latest systems and let designers create new quests rapidly that you’ll be able to come across in the game.
Brand new from the Public Stage comes our Fall Update for you! It contains many improvements and fixes and some new features. Have a look at the notes below to see what has changed.
But as the saying goes, before the update is after the update, and that's why we'll be diligently pursuing two more major updates planned on the roadmap.
What we are also looking forward to on this very day: Medieval Dynasty is also coming out on console today! Tell your console friends about it! Or gift them a copy for the next festive occasion!
We hope you enjoy playing and we'll definitely catch up with you soon!

In this post, we’ll be taking a little bit of a trip down memory lane, from the beginning and creation of the game to its release exactly one year ago. Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Details - Nintendo EverythingWe’ve had the opportunity to do a Starfield interview, which could very well be the magnum opus of Bethesda’s RPG games, as the studio steps out from behind the likes of Fallout and The Elder Scrolls to develop a new universe that redefines its open-world games to be more open-universe, with thousands of planets to explore. This anticipation drove us to chat with an ex-Bethesda developer, who struck out on his own after leaving Bethesda last year and working on Starfield for quite some time.
Is 5 new Witcher games too many Witcher games? - PCGamerNew information has surfaced about Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars regarding details about improvements. We also have a selection of comparison screenshots comparing the new versions to the originals.
CD Projekt unceremoniously announced this week that it has three—no, four—no, five?—new Witcher games in development, alongside a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. Big Geralt is back.
Or at least, witching is. We don't know whether any of CD Projekt's planned games will star or guest star Geralt of Rivia, though the company has said that its next big RPG won't be Geralt's story. We now know that game, which we're tentatively calling The Witcher 4, will be the start of "a new triple-A RPG trilogy." CD Projekt has given that game the codename Polaris. Will it star Ciri or an entirely new cast of characters? We don't know.
It seems more likely Geralt will show up in one of the planned spin-offs that CD Projekt referred to with codenames this week: there's Canis Majoris, a "full-fledged Witcher game, separate to the new Witcher saga starting with Polaris," and also Sirius, a Witcher game from former indie studio Molasses Flood that will include multiplayer in some way.
These are not the only rumblings in the Witcherverse. Season three of the Netflix Witcher series is out next year, and prequel spin-off The Witcher: Blood Origin, starring Michelle Yeoh, debuts in December 2022. Netflix has said it has another anime film and a "family-friendly" animated series on the way, too.
That's a lot of Witcher. But is it too much Witcher? Is CD Projekt just out to appease investors, or is it finally giving the series the attention it deserves? Our team is split between skepticism and excitement, so we argued it out.

Forspoken Nails Parkour Traversal - TechraptorHello everyone! Big news! In honor of Fallout's 25th birthday coming up in October, our wiki rep @Tagaziel has organized a fantastic opportunity to discuss and ask any questions we have about the original Fallout with 3 developers of the game, namely, Tim Cain, Leonard Boyarsky, and Jason Taylor.
Tim Cain was lead programmer and producer for Fallout. Leonard Boyarsky was lead artist and art director. And Jason Taylor was a programmer and designer. They were all heavily involved with the original Fallout so they're the best candidates to answer any questions you've had about lore, game design, etc for the original Fallout.
The Roundtable is scheduled for October 23. More details to come. Get your questions in before October 15 to give them time to answer. There will be some chances to ask last minute questions too but the more time they have the better!
Zoria: Age of Shattering - Dev Diary #6 - ReligionHave a favorite spell you'd like to use more of? Find books throughout the world to select spell challenges to complete that will make the spell stronger. By grinding multiple upgrades at once, Forspoken allows the player to progress relatively quickly and create a skillset that'll make them the most powerful spellcaster in Athia.
We've been pretty excited for Forspoken since the earliest trailers, and getting the opportunity to go hands-on with Forspoken gameplay at New York Comic Con made us even more confident that this will be an excellent game to kick off 2023 with.
Archmage Rises- Update #155: Studio & Dates UpdateZoria lore is huge! Today we want to focus on the topic of religion, which, of course, is present in the game's world.
It’s been a few months since my last studio update, and many things have happened!
- For about a year, I’ve been talking with a senior game engineer, wooing him to join our crazy team. He has plenty of experience and we’re narrowing in on a possible start date. If we go forward, this will help a lot in getting this game out the door.
- As our focus starts to turn from tech to content, I’m in discussions with a lead writer for dialogue and lore.
- We will be ramping up our presence, to this end we are partnering with a small fresh streamer to see how this goes. More streamers to follow.
- We’re looking for a new senior/lead artist.
- I’ve recently closed a deal to sell one of my companies. It has been for sale for over a year so it was a bit surprising a deal came together so suddenly. This buys us some more time on the game.

Wild Hearts to offer Monster Hunter its first real competition - RPGSiteWe played around 12 hours of Wild Hearts, a new monster hunting game from the studio known for the Dynasty Warriors franchise, Koei Tecmo's Omega Force. This beautiful game is shaping up to be a unique take on the genre. Wild Hearts will be released on next-gen consoles and PC with cross-play on February 17, 2023.
Square Enix Montreal is now called Studio Onoma - PCGamerSitting down for my chance to preview Wild Hearts, I was struck by how the Hunting Action genre has almost well and truly been dominated by Capcom's flagship series. Back when the PlayStation Vita was a supported platform in Japan, it felt like every Japanese company under the sun had to try their shot at a game to take on the king of the genre - yet for all their worth, titles like God Eater, Freedom Wars, Soul Sacrifice and Toukiden have all but dried out. Yet, with Monster Hunter: World’s massive success - selling over 20 million copies - it felt like only a matter of time before some major Western company threw its hat into the ring. Enter EA and Koei Tecmo’s collaboration with Wild Hearts, a new 3-person co-op Hunting Action title.
System Shock remake seems to be sneaking onto Steam in March - RPSElongated letters and a colorful palette herald the rebrand of the studio formerly known as Square Enix Montréal, now Studio Onoma. The studio has rebranded, a name change necessitated because it is no longer owned by Square Enix.
The studio was behind innovative mobile-PC crossovers like the Hitman, Lara Croft, and Deus Ex GO games, brilliant minimalist puzzles that worked both as part of their own franchise and within the broader brand they were made from. Studio Onoma has since worked on the Hitman Sniper spinoff series.
A release window for Nightdive Studios’ long-in-development remake of sci-fi immersive sim System Shock has popped up on Steam, like a rogue AI on a futuristic space station terminal. Nightdive now appear to be aiming for a March 2023 release for System Shock, according to the game’s recently updated Steam store page. Although there’s nothing more than that, and Nightdive haven’t announced anything themselves, it’s a step forward for the game.

Wild Hearts Hands-On Preview - WccftechAlice Ruppert has been speaking out about how horses are represented in games ever since Assassin's Creed 3. She'd had such high hopes for it after Red Dead Redemption 1, a game and series she really rates. But when AC3 came along and horses were nothing more than disposable taxis you could pick up at every outpost, she was sorely disappointed. The game didn't even save your horse choice through loading screens. She's been speaking out about horses in games ever since.
Wild Hearts Q&A - WccftechIt should be said that the performance in this preview build leaves quite a bit to be desired, as you can see from the captured gameplay footage below. Still, the three hours or so I spent with Wild Hearts literally flew by and left me hungering for more. Even in this very early stage, the game developed by Omega Force shows incredible promise, and I can't wait to see which crazy contraptions I will be able to build to hunt down Kemono when the game releases on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 12th, 2023.
Wild Hearts hands-on Previews & Gameplay Videos - GematsuFollowing the promising reveal, we've been able to try a preview build of the game and participated in a roundtable press Q&A with Lewis Harvey, Executive Producer for Wild Hearts from the EA Originals team.
