Shroud of the Avatar - Single Player Features

The deck/card based combat is a pretty terrible idea for this kind of game, in my opinion. Everything about the current version screams that it won't be ready for at least a year, and what's actually there is extremely rough.

That is actually something I don't mind, the deck system. It puts a little urgency into the fight as you wait until the skill you want is available. I wouldn't want random skills though.

To me, it doesn't make any sense given the immersive nature of the game. It's being different just because it's an "Avatar" game, and as such apparently can't have a straightforward system.

It's clumsy and takes me out of trying to make a character that I want to play.

But I guess I could get used to it, if the rest of the game lives up to expectations.
