Ama's Lullaby - Command-line Interface Basics
A new update for Ama's Lullaby looks at the command-line interface basics.
Hi there,
I 've made a video about the command-line interface, showing some basic features.
loading...Even if it's one of the main features of the game (and you are probably here for this reason), maybe some of you were not interested or were worried about this interface. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts : )
Have a nice week,
Marc
Thanks Farflame!

Ama's Lullaby - Kickstarter Update
With 39 hours to go Ama's Lullaby is nearly 80% funded on Kickstarter:
Ama's Lullaby is a point-and-click video game taking place in a cyberpunk environment. Playing the role of Ama, a high potential teenager who loves computer sciences, you will explore the colony, meet its human and non-human inhabitants, negociate with the AI and make decisions that will impact directly the course of events. Thanks to Ama’s programming talent, you will be able to hack any network of the city, gather information, steal confidential data to use them for your own purposes, disclose them or even blackmail people. But be careful: every action will have consequences on the story, and Ama will become an easy prey once her identity is unveiled.

Ama's Lullaby - Developer Interview
The folks at Push Start have interviewed Marc Chevallereau - the developer of Ama's Lullaby. The cyberpunk point-and-click adventure has reached nearly 50% funding on Kickstarter:
Developer Interview: Ama’s Lullaby
Ama’s Lullaby is an interesting point and click adventure inspired by the likes of Blade Runner which is currently running a campaign on Kickstarter. We managed to pick the brains of the one man team behind the upcoming game, Marc Chevallereau, to find out more about the game.
Push Start: Would you like to briefly introduce yourself to our readers, and perhaps tell us how you got into videogame development?
Marc: Hi! My name is Marc, I am the founder of Mercy Ground Creations, a (very) small indie game development studio, and I am the developer of the cyberpunk game project Ama’s Lullaby. Like many game creators, I started playing games while I was very young, (which led) me to obtain a Master-level degree in 3D computer graphics (animation and special effects oriented). One day, I saw Brian Fargo’s Wasteland 2 on Kickstarter, and I saw that it was made with Unity. Trying the free version of the soft on my computer, it was a revelation, the beginning of several years of learning how to make games.
Push Start: In your words, how would you best describe the experience you are currently crafting for players?
Marc: Ama’s Lullaby is an immersive game taking place in a cyberpunk atmosphere, with a strong cinematographic approach. You play the role of Ama, a young computer-science prodigy living in the 1st outer space colony. This place was built by machines for human beings to protect humanity, after the announcement of a potential impact between Earth and an asteroid. But when Ama finds out the actual reason of her presence in this colony, and notices the strange behaviour of its inhabitants, her world suddenly falls apart. Then she has to explore the colony, meet its human and non-human inhabitants, negotiate with the AI and make decisions that will impact directly the course of events. Thanks to her programming talent, she is able to hack any network of the city, gather information, steal confidential data to use them for her own purposes, disclose them or even blackmail people. But every action has consequences on the story, and Ama will become an easy prey once her identity is unveiled…

Ama's Lullaby - Development Update
After a long time with no news at all Eye spotted this Ama's Lullaby forum-post:
After 8 months without any post here, I'd like to apologize for the lack of news. As you may suppose, we had some problems with the development of our game. The project was quite complex, with tactical combats, characters' health management... We have to admit that it was an awesome challenge for a small team. Even if we were really motivated, we had not enough free-time to work on Ama's Lullaby.
During some months (the whole team was dissolved), I had to step back and think about the project. Then, one nostalgic day I played the point & click game Blade Runner, and it reminded me why making an indie game was important to me. I had to go back to the essential, to focus on three important things: characters, scenario, atmosphere. We had to forget complex stuff, because we are just not experimented enough for that (and there is a long list of reasons to leave these ideas). I had to have more control on the development, to be able to make "un jeu d'auteur" (a "game d'auteur ? ", you know, like a film d'auteur, in French), with a more personal vision. I'm a 3D generalist artist and musician, but I didnt' know anything about programming for games. So I spent all my free time to learn the basics of C#, and I'm sure that in the future it will help me to find the good balance between the needs of the gameplay & the programming abilities. This is the strengh of author/indie games, you know, when the time and money budgets are very limited.
So, is there no futur for Ama? No way! I wrote a prologue to the Ama's Lullaby story, and it is the opportunity to try an other approach. Maybe some of you will be disappointed, because the post-apocalyptic/survival side is absent in this prologue, you'll find "only" a 100% cyberpunk tone.
Today, the modeling process has already begun. Here is a spaceship that has an important place in the story.
More news to come in the future about the new gameplay and the story, stay tunned!

Ama's Lullaby - New Forum Update
The developers of Ama's Lullaby posted a new update on our forums today. I look forward to backing the game when it finally launches for crowd-funding this year.
As you will see with the next pictures, we don't have a lot of screenshots from our game prototype to show you. In facts, it is progressing quite slowly. The main reason is that the project is too complex (because of the RPG and hardore-oriented features) for being developed without any funds. It takes a lot of time, and because in our lives we have full-time jobs, it runs slowly. Furthermore, it's complicated to stay focused, and to motivate the team since the beginning of the project (it has started in the end of 2013…), without any guarantee of a succesful financing in the future. We'd love to give more for this project but we can't.
That's why we're thinking about trying to raise funds, in a few months. It could help us to focus on the game, to develop it in a quite faster way. More importantly, it would give us the opportunity to build a real small game development studio behind the project, to make it more official.
So, what are we doing now in our free time? Well, we're working on a small cinematic 3D movie, showing the game's atmosphere and main lines story. Here are some test renders and screenshots (still work in progress).

Ama's Lullaby - Website Updates
So many games to cover that I usually miss when a game gets new updates, and Ama's Lullaby is one such game. The games developer has a new update from December.
As you can see, these days we're not showing a lot of things. We are working hard on the dialog, inventory and combat systems: both are really complicated and all the team is quite busy. These features are the core of the game, and just like you we have high expectations in terms of quality.
We also started to work on a precomputed 3D video, to prepare our crowdfunding campaign trailer, next year!
Well there you have it hopefully I don't miss the new updates this year.

Ama's Lullaby - New Website & Dev Logs
Ama's Lullaby finally has a new website for more information on the game, and the developer has posted a few new logs about the games development.
THE GAME
Currently in development, Ama's Lullaby is a survival cRPG which takes place in a cyberpunk and post-apocalyptic world. It features tactical combats, immersive dialogs, and a complex system of characters' health management.
This is the story of Ama, a cyborg left to herself after having escaped from her creators. With Bran, a lone survivor in the wastelands, she will discover what she was created for: to save the human race from the machine threat. But she quickly develops a taste for life, becomes attached to Bran, and her sacrifice might be a gift that humanity does not deserve...STORY
We are working on a demo level of the game which includes all the main features (survival mechanisms, turn-based combat mode, dialogs...). We hope to gather a community around this game project, and then we will launch a crowdfunding campaign: as we are 100% indie and volunteers, this is the only way for us to achieve the complete game.
OUR GOALS
The full team is based in France (Paris/Lyon). Several professional developers and graphists, a sound designer and a music composer are working on the project. Everything's in place to make a good game!
