BioWare Handheld Group Interview @ GameDaily Biz

by Dhruin, 2006-09-21 22:42:00
Project Director for BioWare's newly-formed handheld division Dan Tudge speaks with GameDaily Biz about their plans:
BIZ: What about the handheld market now is appealing to BioWare?

DT: A number of things, really. For one, this new generation of handheld technology provides developers a lot more creative freedom and opportunities to innovate. We are now able to do some really amazing things that simply weren't possible with previous generations of handheld systems. We'll never stop making fantastic games for PC and console, but we're eager to try something new in this particular space, especially since we see a lot of growth potential for it.

BIZ: Why select the DS for the first project? Do you plan to support the PSP as well?

DT: Right now, we're focused on making the best game we possibly can for the Nintendo DS, but of course we're open to considering other handheld platforms as well, like the PSP or even mobile phones. Those are all very cool systems, but for purposes of this particular project, we felt that the DS was a better fit, both from a features standpoint and a target market.
