Chaos Reborn - Turn-Based Strategy Game
Chaos Reborn is an update of the classic 1985 ZX Spectrum game 'Chaos: The Battle of Wizards' by X-com creator Julian Gollop. The site calls the game a turn-based strategy game with strong RPG elements.
Here are the details.
'Chaos Reborn' is an update of my classic 1985 ZX Spectrum game 'Chaos: The Battle of Wizards'. Why am I choosing to update this old game? Because it was a unique game with simple, yet fascinating game mechanics that guaranteed a unique experience each time you played it. The premise was straightforward - you controlled a wizard with a limited number of spells in an arena with enemy wizards, and you had to be the last wizard standing to win the game. I want to take the core mechanics of the original Chaos and expand on them to create a rich experience with diverse multi-player and single-player modes.
In my 30 years of game development, after many critically acclaimed projects, I think the original Chaos stands out as a game with unrealised potential. I have spent the last year working on Chaos Reborn, writing the game design, creating a playable prototype and building my team. I intend to raise funds via Kickstarter to complete the project within a year. It will be available for PC, Mac and Linux.
