Eschalon: Book 1 - Peek #1 @ RPG Vault

Thomas Riegsecker from Basilisk has penned a first Peek article for RPG Vault, talking about Eschalon's gameplay:

Throughout the development of Eschalon: Book I, we have studied many other RPGs to figure out what makes some of them stand out above others. An obvious conclusion we came to is that a good RPG is one that allows players to exploit the game using the strengths of their character. More specifically, a good RPG will allow players to figure out for themselves the best way to achieve in-game goals using their character's abilities rather than the game simply presenting the player with prefabricated solutions based their character's class.
