Gods & Heroes - Dev Blog @ 1Up

by Inauro, 2007-07-22 02:10:32

Jakes Forbes, a Quest Writer for Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising, has updated the game's developer blog at 1Up.

For inspiration, we looked to the ancient myths. Jason, one of the most famous heroes in mythology, surrounded himself not with "cronies," but with heroes with resumes as fantastic as his own -- Orpheus the musician, Atalanta the huntress, the twins Castor and Pollux, and even Hercules joined in the quest for the Golden Fleece. Their motivation for joining Jason wasn't a chance for a quick buck, but glory for themselves and the Olympians. Now we're getting somewhere! As G&H takes place in a semi-historical Rome, there is also a strong sense of civic duty that drives our heroes. We realized that minions should be heroes in their own right -- all they need is the right Roman to lead them.
