Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods - Review @ ComputerGames.ro
ComputerGames.ro posts a harsh 4 page review of Jowood's Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods, giving it a score of 30/100:
Conclusion:
What the producers wanted and what they accomplished are entirely different things. The idea of having a link between Gothic 3 and 4 is a good one, but JoWood has destroyed more than it has created. And even if I am a big fan of the Gothic series, I can’t look at this title and say it’s a good one. Because I don’t have any reason to.
It hasn’t come up with something really useful, it has ruined what was good about the series, and, what’s worse, it doesn’t have a goal, a good story, we roam aimlessly through an empty map, with too few creatures or NPCs. It’s much too easy; it’s a “game” where the ultimate goal is becoming rich. I couldn’t find anything else of interest and I surely looked for it intensely. And the oncoming patches, official or fan made, can only fix bugs, while the core can’t be fixed overnight.JoWood has already apologized for the state of the game when it was released and announced that they will release a content pack which is supposed to contain features requested by the fans, but I doubt it will be revolutionary. Because no matter how much they fix it, Forsaken Gods is a very poor title. I didn’t like it, I don’t recommend it and I am saying that not without regrets, because we’re still talking about a Gothic game.
