Guild Wars: State of the Game @ GameSpy

GameSpy takes another look at ArenaNet's Guild Wars in their latest "State of the Game" feature.

Prior to Guild Wars' launch, it was easy to be skeptical about some of the lofty promises being made. The prospect of a subscriptionless online RPG that would stream most of its content instead of using traditional patches was hardly a sure thing, but the game was received with both stellar reviews and brisk sales, and a thriving online scene soon emerged.
