It's Beta Journal Wednesday at the official Lord of the Rings Online site. Here's a snippet from this week's installment:

I'm a ranged combat snob. Call it an archer, hunter, ranger, scout, whatever, but if it's a ranged combat class odds are its my class of choice. I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly as far as how the class is implemented, and the LOTRO hunter, so far, ranks pretty high for me. The animations are fluid and (mostly) accurate, the skill set, so far, is believable and useful - some skills play nice with others and create opportunities for increased effects if used in a certain order, or within a set time of each other. The skills are also both lore appropriate, and class appropriate, with a light mix of melee attacks interspersed among a wide range of ranged skills. Of these melee attacks, my favorite so far has to be Blind Side - a moderate damage melee attack whose main purpose is to create an opening for a subsequent close range attack with the hunters weapon of choice - the bow.
