Lord of the Rings Online - Interview @ CVG

An interview with Lord of the Rings' exec producer Jeffrey Steefel is up at CVG:

How far into the future have you planned currently?

Steefel: We have our epic story figured out at least through to Book 14 to 16, we kind of know where it goes and how that ties in with the overall story of the Lord of the Rings. And then we grow from there.

We don't want to pin ourselves into a corner because we know that, now we have players, the direction of things is not entirely in our hands.

But certainly for the next year we know what's going on specifically, we know what major features we want to get in in the next year - as far as we know, again. For example, Monster Play is only going to start coming into its own over the next month or so, because we're finally going to get enough level 40 and above players that we're going to have real PvP going on.

We may learn something during the course of that that tells us there's other things we need to do sooner. Or we might decide it's so great we need to do a lot more there. So we try to stay open and flexible.
