FiringSquad previews the Lord of the Rings Online and talks with Turbine CEO Jeff Anderson about the pre-order program.

Some people might think that having people pay $199 in order to play the game online for the life of the product would a huge boost in revenue for Turbine but Anderson told us that wasn't the main reason for such an offer. "If they pay the subscription for $199 and they have a lifetime membership, they will never quit. And for us a big part of what we are trying to do is build communities; find people who are actually adding content themselves to the game. The revenue is great but what is its really about is building community."
