The simple Lemmings gameplay dynamic is exploited very well by the designers in just about every aspect of gameplay, from the simplest, such as having to use certain minions to pass terrain that would kill the others (water, fire, fields of poisonous plants), to combat, where using the correct combination of minions will despatch the toughest foes in seconds, or waste hundreds of the wrong type, to some of the game’s more interesting puzzles, which require well thought-out combinations of minion control and Overlord intervention to be passed through unscathed, or as good as.
