Milestone 5 Released

The Ultima 6 Project Milestone 5 (M5) release is now available for download. You will find the download links on both the Ultima 6 Project site (http://www.u6project.com/), and on the on the Project Britannia site (http://www.projectbritannia.com/index.php). There will be a new forum on the Project Britannia site specifically for players to discuss M5, give feedback to the team & exchange hints.

Most of the overworld is now complete, with most of it playable and accessible. Ships are available, so you will be able to sail to the islands in Britannia’s world. Since last month’s report, Trinsic, Lycaeum and Serpent's Hold have been completed, and their NPCs have been placed into their towns. You will find new quests to pursue, and have some interesting new areas to explore.

New characters have been added, including an Evil Mage who has serious issues, and who will eventually be a very nasty character. In the picture below, the the Avatar is checking out the Evil Mage’s hangout, and has wisely equipped the new Order of the Silver Serpent Shield.

Sutek and his keep have been added to the world, and you will want to be sure to explore his island, but watch out for those cute critters! Some of those bunnies look awfully large and aggressive!

There are some beautiful new areas for you to explore, including the one shown in the following picture, which was done by Nicodemus. He sure does great work.

The team is starting to add enhancements to the world, and you will start to see illustrated lorebooks. The pictures below were done by Wyrdweb, and are from the “Britannian Mycological Society” lorebook.

As you start to play M5, you will see a new interface GUI, the Event Console, shown in the picture below, which will help you keep track of what’s happening during play. Let the team know how you like the GUI on the forums, and if there are any changes you’d like to see.

For M6, the team will continue to work on enhancements to the journal, on fleshing out the plot, and on adding Karma to the game.

Be sure to visit the Project Britannia website (http://www.projectbritannia.com/), where you can download the latest milestone release to play, and check out the forums.
Also check out the Ultima 6 Project main site (http://www.u6project.com/) for profiles of the Project team members, and to look at additional recently posted screenshots from the game.

If you like what you see, and would like to contribute to this great game (and help us get it out faster), the team is looking for a dungeon-builder and a 3D modeler. We are also looking for writers, 2D artists (portraits/textures, etc.) and music creators. And, of course, we're always looking for play-testers. Contact any of the team members on the forums if you'd like to join the team.

About The U6 Project
