Today, nearly 3 years after release there are over 40,000 people currently playing Skyrim on their pcs. Skyrim has been in the top 10 in the number of current players almost every single day since that time. Escapist calling it #1 is redundant. In terms of single-player games on Steam, it is the king and has been since the beginning. This doesn't even count the millions that own Skyrim outside of Steam. Weep, oh haters, weep
