by RPGWatch, 2022-02-07

Here are the winners of the Game of The Year 2021 as voted by our members and editors.

Gamers' and Editor's Choice: Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

RPGWatch GoldRPGWatch GoldOwlcat Games did it again: Pathfinder: Kingmaker was the GotY 2018 on RPGWatch and now the successor Wrath of the Righteous earned the title once more. The isomemetic story-driven RPG offers lots of choices with consequences, swapping between turn-based and real-time combat, more than ten unique party members and an optional strategy element - the Crusade Management. The game is epic and easily one of the best CRPGs in recent years.

Gamers' and Editors' Runner Up: Solasta: Crown of the Magister

RPGWatch SilverRPGWatch Silver

If you like D&D, Solasta: Crown of the Magister is a must-play game. The game faithfully adapts the SRD 5.1 ruleset and you can undergo a long tactical adventure. Character building, party & inventory management and tactical turn-based combat are the strong aspects of the game. Well done, Tactical Adventures!

Gamers' Third Place: The Chronicles Of Myrtana: Archolos

RPGWatch Bronze

Gothic fans never get enough of Gothic and so they created a total conversion mod to tell a new story in the Gothic universe. The game offers lots of quests with multiple solutions, a great open world to explore and a brand new huge story. Some game mechanic got an overhaul.
With 170 quests and an immersive storyline (again implemented in chapters) you get a lot of RPG fun - a big Thank You to the Chronicles Of Myrtana Team!

The votes of the editors were quite conclusive on the first spot and started to vary quite a bit for the other spots, which is why only the first two spots could be marked as editors' choices.
