Game of the Year Awards 2014 - Most Promising RPG
Like the results for best RPG, also the top 3 of the most anticipated games in 2015 are identical between gamers and editors.
Editors' Choice & Gamers' Choice: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the final swan song for Geralt on his quest to find more answers, and find the mysterious women that hunts his dreams.
It's also CD Projekt's most ambitious game to date according to the developers. They promise over 100 hours of game content in a huge open world larger than anything you played in Skyrim.
Last year the game was voted runner up. This year according to both Watch members, and team members it reached the #1 spot on our list as it was delayed to 2015.
Editors' Choice & Gamers' Choice Runner up: Pillars of Eternity
Pillars of Eternity is Obsidian's first attempt at crowd-funding, and promises to recapture the magic, imagination, depth, and nostalgia of classic RPG's that the developer, and gamers enjoy.
Like our first place winner it was also a runner up from 2014. After the delay last year Obsidian has announced the new release date of the game is March 26th, 2015.
It's safe to say the game will probably be a competitor for GOTY in 2015.
Editors' Choice & Gamers' Choice Third Place: Torment: Tides of Numenera
The third place pick was Torment: Tides of Numenera, and is inXile Entertainment's second kickstarter success from 2013. The game promises to continue the legacy of Planescape: Torment.
With the delayed development due to Wasteland 2 last year the game suffered a few delays, but inXile Entertainment does list a possible release in 2015.
Yet a 2016 release does sound more probable.
